Description:
Held on the first night of the 3D2N Annual Summer Chalet, can you imagine letting strangers whom you are meeting for the first time see you in pyjamas?
Well, we can’t imagine that either; so we didn’t imagine, we decided to just do it.
No forfeit, no incentives, but look who’s in PJs???

Class Club formal photo!!! LOL!

GT the water ghost; with XK and XY attempting to be a headless ghost. Look at the rest! A bunch of jokers!

What's with the masks? Oh! It was the H1N1's peak season!

See Us Not!!!
I better hide myself in a cave before they kill me for sharing these photos!

It was a distant 4 months ago when RBKD called that little double-storey, 4 bedrooms chalet our clubhouse for 3D2N. RBKD’s very first Club Chalet.

We began with a round of self-introduction, adopting the “Name + 3 things about myself” format. Facts like how much we love Rui En were of course, barred.

Up next was the “Don’t Forget HER Lyrics”. Rather impromptu I would say, but I have no doubt we walked out of the session remembering some of her trickier lyrics for life.

Concluding the day was the much anticipated and feared “PJs night“.

Yawns… It was horrifying to wake up to stares and discussions (about us!) as though we were the newest exhibits in museum. But well, we were the ones who abandoned our bedroom for this floor mat in the living room.

Rise and shine and the whole day was Free & Easy for everyone. Some of them basked in the nice sunlight by cycling along the beach, while others basked in the happiness of re-re-re-rewatching Rui En’s dramas off their laptop screens.
For the two “zombie” organisers, it was the most exciting power nap ever as they slept in the same room with roof-tearing “Heart Attack!!!” louder than our Public Warning System.

And what do you hate and fear most when you have an outdoor BBQ? Rain? You got it, or should I say, we got it. A picture speaks a thousand words, and this is how we set up our BBQ fire in the rain.
Thank goodness the è€å¤© finally stopped crying (飞旋: 我喜欢下雨天 把烦æ¼æ”¾ä¸€è¾¹ 幻想è€å¤©æ‰åˆšå¤±æ‹).

The night was then filled with smoke, food and laughters. A couple of them decided to play “The Girls Who Cried Rui En” (latest sequel to “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”); no one there except myself, knew that Rui En was indeed coming.

After countless “RUI ENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ‘s President! *giggles*”, guess the look on everyone’s shocked faces when they did “RUI ENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” and Rui En really appeared. Surprise!

The day ended with our usual laugh-until-you-dont-have-to-do-crunches-anymore JN & XK Show.

Who said that she doesn’t smile/laugh? Not us =)
Opps. I forgot about Rui En’s è¦æœ‰åˆ†å¯¸ speech!

The sun rises again and its time to say goodbye. But not before we were made to pay 50bucks for the excess electricity usage. Can you blame us for blasting the Air-Con when it’s the 37°C Summer? We don’t have Love@0°C you know? =P

Last but not least, a little unbelievable but, RBKD’s very first Club Photo in COLORS!!!
Your President is signing off =)

Yes, you are right! We were there at 6am, although the event commenced only at 7pm.

“Don’t play play”, as long as studies or work ain’t affected, we don’t mind doing crazy things for Rui En.

Someone (we suspect its Hype) gave us 2 cartons of packed rice for dinner and we suggested they offer the Jeaniuses one of the cartons instead :)

And we managed to get ourselves “seen” on TV :D

Presenting to you, the debut of our LR RE boards, each A1 in size.

And I would like to let everyone know how proud I am of these girls.
Picking up litter left behind by the public and fans from other FCs was definitely not necessary or expected of us, but my considerate girls did it anyway.
Never mind that we couldn’t reach the car park in time to wave goodbye to Rui En, at least we did something we knew was right and I’m glad we did it.
Who said that Fan Clubs only know how to scream and cheer?

Naomi, Organiser:
Organizing the Cycling Trip to Pasir Ris Park was not much of a hassle. At first I was kinda nervous because I never liked organizing events or sort as I felt I am not good at it. It is actually quite simple eventually. Just need to decide on a location, then consider the timing as well because it can be quite hot.
Of course, there are those whom we met for the first time. We chatted for a bit then headed to Pasir Ris Park from Pasir Ris Interchange. So we started cycling when we reach there. There were a few fast cyclists, and the rest were average cyclists. But one of the fast ones cycled so fast, she almost crashed with other people. Hence, we named her ROADHAZARD CANDICE. So we, the fast ones, decided to go slow with the rest and had a fun time chatting while cycling too.
After that, a few left while the rest had dinner and continued chatting. Overall, it was a FUN and FRUITFUL day where we gained more knowledge about one another and had LOTS OF FUN!!
By joining RBKD, there certainly will be A LOT OF FUN (even if you’re more of a shy person)!! :)

The cycling IPC was the first activity I went to. At that time, I only knew one of the members. I took a long time to decide if I should attend that activity. When I reached Pasir Ris Mrt, I saw people gathering in groups. I was very worried. I was worried that people would ignore me and I would have to cycle all alone with my friend.
After around 10minutes, more people arrived and they greeted each other warmly and we went to MacDonalds to wait for someone. I thought that it would be very boring. However upon sitting down, someone talked to me. I felt very happy. After awhile, we joined everyone and started talking.
In the park, we cycled and someone got injured. Everyone was like helping her and I felt that RBKD is a very friendly fanclub and the members care for each other. Someone even said:â€we came together and we shall leave together.†Upon hearing it, I knew that I did not join the wrong fanclub (:
After cycling, we went to Whitesands to have our dinner. The members shared a lot of things with me. From rui en to studies and to what they do in school. I crapped a lot too. In my whole life, I have never crap so much to people who I just met for 1 day before.
All in all, RBKD people are really friendly and I would not feel left out when I am hanging out with them.

Jolie, Participant:
The cycling IPC was the first IPC that i had attended. I had thought for a lot of times if i want to go for the IPC as I did not know how to ride a bicycle. I also did not know many in the club. I finally decided to go but I was still quite hesitant on the bike. Still, I rode one eventually. It was all right for me at first till I lost control of the bike at one point and fell. But I know I could continue and with some help from Lionel, I managed to go on.
A few near accidents almost happen and the one finally came. I had to make a huge turn and I totally lost control and fell, injuring my wrist. The rest were very helpful and help me up and went back to the bicycle shop with me. Soon i left as my dad wanted me to go home and rest. After seeing a doctor, it was just a bad sprain on my old injury.
On a whole the IPC was fun and enjoyable but it also make me know that I should never ride a bicycle again :)

What: Sun, Sand, Sentosa!
When: 30 May 2009
Where: Sentosa
Organiser(s): Candice

Candice, Organiser:
I think organising the Sentosa trip wasn’t easy. We couldn’t accommodate everyone date and time as it was last minutes planning and people having O level mother tongue paper the following week.
Planning what going to do, where and when to meet wasn’t that easy.
Though Sentosa Palawan beach is a bit crowded but not really, we did have a lot of fun. We played monkey in the seas. It was fun. Playing in sea is not as easy in playing on land. Move around in water wasn’t easy. We had fun camwhoring too. We went sun taning too. Lying on the sand is super shiok! I think 6 of them having fun burying me from top to bottom. 5 to 6 hours in sentosa was great!
Dinner was at Chinatown Complex. We eat until we want to burst. I think everyone was tired by then.

Sandy beach, sunny sun, cooling sea water are waiting for us to arrive. It was a very good day to sun tan and to play by the beach. Laid the mat, applied tanning oil/sunblock and off we go. We played Frisbee, beach ball and chit chatted in the sea. And we “buried” our organizer with the sand! haha! i wonder how is the feeling of being covered by the warm sands.
After playing, we were all tired, so we laid down and sun tan. Absorbing the vitamins A? B? C? D? E? from the sun. pictures was taken, browsing through the pictures again now is just like a paused scene of that day. i felt so great after sun tanning. i love it when my skin is tan and my cheeks are rosy, it makes you look energetic. hope there will be another time going sentosa with RBKD peeps! =)

Organisation: Youth Advolution for Health (YAH) Health Promotion Board
Target: Tertiary Students
Period: April to July 2009
After our visit to the PCC (Patient Care Centre) in March 2009, the Youth Community Outreach Department from the Health Promotion Board invited RBKD to carry out a Youth Health Project with the YAH.
After a meeting with the department from the HPB, the committee decided to collaborate with one of the Polytechnics in Singapore for this AIDS awareness project.
While we received praises for our efforts from our corresponding lecturers in Nanyang Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic, we soon began to realise how our ideas clashed with on-going programs in the institutions.
Not wanting to disrupt their activities, we dropped the idea of having our own project and assumed the role of participants ourselves.
Maybe there might be other opportunities next time round.

Description:
No more dirty water!
After Cyclone Nargis hit, clean water became extremely scarce in our community. A lot of children around me have fallen sick as a result of waterborne diseases. Your gift of PUR water purification sachets is very valuable as they protect us from contracting guinea worm, cholera, typhoid, trachoma and other painful and deadly diseases. Please save our lives!
*PUR is a water purification sachet that effectively reduces the presence of parasites and pesticides in water and acts as a mini-water treatment plant. One sachet of PUR can purify up to 10 litres of water.

In January 2009, RBKD held an online auction for Pickles – the RE’s Frog (donated by Rui En) to raise fund for the website. As the winning bid was higher than necessary to fund our web hosting package, RBKD decided to donate the surplus sum to charity.
Since Rui En had expressed concerns over the Nargis victims earlier on, they became the rightful choice for us to channel our help to.

In June 2009, the Community Chest organised their fund-raising program “TrueHearts Show†over the National TV, on MediaCorp’s Channel 8.
“Listen To Your Heartâ€, or “关怀是阳光†(its Chinese equivalent), is a ComChest Theme Song by Rui En. Moved by the lyrics, we suggested the Community Chest release this theme song in the form of an album and volunteered our help where suitable.
The good news came in August when the Community Chest finally agreed to produce the album and we were tasked to design it all by ourself!
After tens of drafts and numerous feedbacks from both Community Chest and Hype Records, the not-for-sale album’s design is finally confirmed and would be sent for printing in late October. We can’t wait to “Listen To Your Heartâ€.
