Bak Kwa Fried Rice (without the rice yet).
And we forgot to take pictures of Candice playing Wii. Remind us next time!
Before we sign out, did we mention how Candice played Wii Boxing as though she was playing bowling and Wii Bowling as though she was playing Golf? And not to forget how the white golf ball got further and further away from the small little hole each time Candice swings the console? You know who you want as a partner next time round *winks*

Spreading some warmth & love, especially during festive seasons, always feel great. Though some doors are shut forever, the ones we entered brought about genuine smiles on the owners
Language/race is not a barrier, it’s just an obstacle for us to cross over.
Let’s step forward!

Sometimes, you can’t just have the heart and passion to help, you need to do so at the right timing too.
We first helped to pack the goodies bags before heading to Ang Mo Kio. Doors after doors we knocked, but no single one came forth. We were even barked at by a fierce dog!
The thought of these elderlies possibly spending time with their family instead of staying alone at home dispelled any initial disappointment the two of us had. Disappointed, but not discouraged. Count us in the next time round too!

We started the day by helping to pack the goodie bags before heading
over to Redhill, in hope of spreading some warmth and joy to the
elderly. However, the four families that we visited were not at home.
Was rather disappointed cause this was not first time i encountered
such a situation. Nonetheless, i am not disheartened.
Definitely looking forward to the visit, hopefully with the luck of
meeting a family :D
Appreciate and be grateful of what we have:)

Volunteering on the eve of Chinese New Year has never crossed our minds, but they needed volunteers so we went ahead.
These elderlies were mostly needy elderlies living off the public assistance scheme, living in one/two room rental flats.
Youngsters like us, often seen as apathetic, had never stepped into one room flats. “How how how? I can’t speak Teochew!” That was how startled we were when invited into the home of this Teochew Ah Erm, already 89 years of age! Luckily Ah Erm could understand our Hokkien. Phew~
Altogether, we visited the homes of 2 elderlies and left food packs with another 5 who were not at home. As we welcome the Chinese New Year extravagantly with food and snacks that never seem to run out, there are indeed people out there who can’t afford to celebrate.
Count your blessings =)

What: Rui En’s Birthday Gathering 2010
When: 16 January 2010
Where: 7th Storey Restaurant @ Wilkie Edge
Organiser(s): Xinyi and Min Min
—
Joey, Table 5:
The birthday celebration for Ruien held by our club this year, was yet another amazing and unforgettable event in the RBKD history. On that very Saturday, all of us met up at dhoby ghaut mrt station, and as a big group, we took the sbs bus which suddenly looked like a schoolbus, to the restaurant.
After waiting for actually-I-don’t-know-how-long, ruien appeared! Everyone chua tio-ed and pretend like nothing happened, but actually inside the hearts all shivering, happy like siao right! Strike 4D also not so happy hor!
Did some self-intro thingy, and slowly everyone opened up and started having real fun. Ruien went from table to table to communicate with the different groups, and I’m sure every single person there had some awesome time talking to her. She ended at my table, and whoo, what’s a birthday gathering without cake-cutting? So we sang her the birthday song with our suddenly-so-beautiful voices, she made an awesome wish though I don’t really know what it is, and then cut the cake! It was a beautiful cake, and we have minmin to thank! Had a small photo-taking session at the end, and very soon after, she left. Really hope she enjoyed herself!
A big thank-you to the committees who put so much effort into making this whole gathering a possibility, and of course ruien for taking the time off to attend this. Confirm guarantee plus chop and double bang with insurance and GST7% everyone enjoyed it right?

Xianli, Table 2:
The birthday celebration was great.
When Rui En arrived, i noticed everyone looked at her for a sec, and then back to their foods.
hahah. Maybe we were all like “omg! she come already! how!? how!?”
We did ice breaking activities, and back to food again. hahaha.
While we were eating, Rui En went table to table and have a little chat with us.
If there is another chance to have a little chat with her,
I’d better come out with some questions in advance.
cos all i did was just smiling and nodding, not much talking.
After she went all of the groups, cake cutting time!
whoohoo!~ i <3 the cake! haha! One big smiley. :D
Thanks Minmin for the lovely yummy cake~
We sang the birthday song and photo taking time!
Snap snap snap! Thank you to the person who invented camera,
so that we are able to captured these wonderful memories.
I love the "ali baba gostan" part that made her LOL-ed. =D
After some time, she left and we left.
Thank you to the committees for everything,
Thank you Rui En for coming,
Thank you Minmin for the lovely cake again,
last but not least, thank you to all those who snap non-stop during that day. =)
Planting another wonderful memories in my brain cells that i will never kill them.
loL~

Zilei, Table 5:
Totally, absolutely, utterly awesome day for all of us.
I was eating when I saw her seated at the table so I elbowed Qiao Zhen that Rui En was there and then she looked around and couldn't see her, and when she saw her she went "OMG." I suddenly realised everybody was eating as though she was not there. No cameras, no permanent markers or anything so we continued eating like everyone else while we were like "OMG OMG OMG IT'S RUI EN!" inside. Heh.
Did self-intro and she went to each table to talk to everybody, take pictures and sign autographs etc. while we were eating. And I finally took my first picture with her and I'm still very happy until now. *Smiles widely*
After that was cake-cutting (Thanks Minmin for the happy cake!) and group picture. The cake was really delicious and that includes one of the eyes which I ate...
Really glad that I could know more about my fellow table-mates (and of course other RBKD-ers through the self-intro).
Really really thank the committee for organising it and making it a success and Rui En for attending!
I won't forget the newly-added fond memories and of course the skin cells. :>

What What: RBKD’s Birthday Gift for Rui En (Year 2010)
What What What: A Scrapbook Collection of Everyone’s Fond Memories Made Possible Because of Rui En.

Xinyi, Club President:
“Don’t waste your money buying gifts for me.” Sometimes we wonder if Rui En will ever stop saying that. But then again, she wouldn’t be Rui En if she don’t say this anymore.
Same goes for us, it wouldn’t be us if we were to be so obedient when it comes to her birthday gifts.
But if buying her gifts makes her uncomfortable and us uncomfy if we don’t get her any, the best way out is really, to make her one.
And so the rationale of this gift is simple as its name, to share with her all these fond memories, from great friendship to great fun, made possible because of her. You are the reason for these fond memories.

When: 31 December 2009 / 1 November 2010
Where: Jalan Kayu

Candice, Priority Member:
That day, RBKD had this service called the RBKD shuttle service to Jalan Kayu. Cool Right?! As one of the 2 drivers, I ferried at least 4 to 5 person per trip and I led the way for the other driver since I knew the route well. It was quite fun! We make 2 trips altogether, from Punggol to Jalan Kayu. It was definitely a noisy trip with everyone squeezed into the 2 cars, too excited and high!

Never mind that our watches/clocks on mobile phones did not synchronise, what matters was, our hearts did and still is.
They say a picture tells a thousand words, so I assume videos would do a better job?
This is how we spent our last hour of 2009: http://RBKD-online.com/fanclub/2010/01/02/ushering-2010-the-rbkd-style/
And do you know how difficult it was to record a video message for Rui En with minimal lighting (at a car park to be exact) and all of us in black tops? Here’s the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXSwGGet2FA

Last day of the year, but prolly one of the most awesome days of it. Time spent with RBKD and ruien will always be treasured and never forgotten, like duh! Hahaha.
Reached punggol at around 8 plus plus plus, and saw like many many RBKD humans there, which makes me happy! And I sponsored lozenges, although I’m not the official lozenges provider, but still, yay me! Sometimes we just have to make do with pirated stuffs, HAHA. Oh oh the emcee said smth like ruien was sick and what cannot perform. Make me kanchiong only. What happens when ruien appears? You scream “AHHHHHH!†So she appeared, and we screamed! Everyone went siao over her earrings I remember, heh heh sexy bo! Ling long ling long from one side to the other. She sang kong ping, home and qing wa, and in between, we were screaming like whoah.
And the moment she went off stage, wah chiong ahhhhhhh! Who run faster who win. And somehow, we ended up in the middle of the road. But we took a group picture with her, and pew! In a flash, she disappeared.
Nevertheless, ruien, thank you for spending uh 1/24 of your last day of 2009 with RBKD, and we’re glad to spend it with you! And spending my last few hours of 2009 with RBKD is the best. There’s no place I’d rather be {:
