Xinyi, President:
Somehow, Star Awards just don’t seem complete if we don’t make some last minute boards. This time round, it is to show our support for Unriddle and also to let everyone know that Unriddle 2 is coming to us in 2012.
Last minute and a lack of budget, that’s the worst thing to happen.
I admit we were a little defiant, Unriddle was snubbed in Star Awards Night One, we wanted everyone to know that no matter what the results were, Unriddle still has us. So we decided we should make these boards.
When we were mounting the boards, we were a little amazed how experienced some of us have become. The result of some very rigorous board making training in RBKD.
These boards are special, supposed to be disposable but how can we ever bear to?

Try drawing this with nothing more than just the paper, pencil, ruler and compass; no reference, no template, that’s the way it was done. I firmly believe that hand made boards doesn’t justify a sloppy work, so this complicated mathematical art has become RBKD’s unique way of boards making. But as if this wasn’t challenging enough, see what happened that day and the other that day. Can’t believe we were so lucky.
They call this downpour.
Keeping our boards safe from the rain.
Rain or shine, undeterred.
Absolutely focused.
No room for error.
End result? The new Green Blue Boards. Colors in RBKD =)
Signing off,
Xinyi

The train ride was fun. When it comes to squeezing 10 people into a group photo using the è‡ªæ‹ way, I swear, it is super hard. Luckily we managed to, with a lot of laughter on the train of course. HAHAHA!
The “automated toilet†along the main road was interesting, it has a time limit of 15 minutes. Can you imagine? You are not done in the toilet and the door just slides open… HAHAHAHA!
The rides were fun especially the spinning ride… Hahaha! It was meant to be a “warm-up†for us before the roller coaster ride. I was sitting beside Jia Min and actually, the bigger size one was suppose to be sitting outside for obvious reasons which I realized only during the ride. HAHAHA!
No matter how you sit, you will just be squashing the person sitting on the outside. So throughout the ride, yes, I was squashing Jia Min. Hahaha! I tried ways to move back in but my legs started “flying†out of the car even though there is a sign just right in front of me to remind me not to have my arms and legs out of it. Haha!
The “hi-jacking†and prank calling session in Yamie’s room after lunch was hilarious! Since a few rooms were only ready, we decided to “hi-jack†her room. Haha! The few of us in the room decided to prank call Xin Yi but we took super long to prepare the script and also to “locate†her. Phyllis even called the wrong room and some China lady picked up the phone.
I got prank by our dear Joanne~ She really sounded like those lobby person so obviously I took it for real right. HAHAHA! The funnier part came only when more people came in. I will never forget the number 713. The whole room kept asking me to call 713 because that is the “number” to the front desk. All I know was that I kept pressing that number on the phone because I really thought that 713 was the number to the front desk.
The more I pressed the more everyone in the room were laughing. I was even complaining that the call could not go through. Only at dinner time which is 10 plus then did I realized the whole room were trying to make me call Xaby’s room (Xaby’s room was 713). HAHAHA! Why I found it funny? Because everyone in the room realized it except for me. Even Phyllis’s mum knew about it. HAHAHAHA!
Every single moment of this trip was fun filled with laughter.
Like what I have said in the forum, “我真的好久没有那么开心过了.â€:)
Dear President of RBKD – The Official Fan Club of Rui En

Cami, Organiser:
“I am going to meet new friends†That was what I told my mother on the day of the outing. Well, this led to an endless tirade of nagging, including the danger of meeting new people from online. Of course, I proved her wrong when I returned home, looking and feeling great
Feeling both excited and anxious in meeting new people and establish new friendships. At the café, we still didn’t know much about each other. Yet, the games ‘loosened’ our muscles up such that we began chatting and all. It is also thanks to the ‘older’ members who helped to start conversations.
Unglamorous videos were taken during charades (of multiple people which I shan’t mention). Thanks to these daring people and the enthusiastic videographers (Kah Yin and Joanne), we shall have concrete evidence of this memorable outing!
All good things come to an end. All in all, the outing ended in a pleasant mood, with newly built friendships.
This first time organizing an outing provided an experience that is unforgettable. Thank you everyone for participating and thank you, Joanne, dearest partner!

Joanne, Co-organiser:
It was my first time co-organising an IPC. I was very new to this forum and I knew nobody. I am glad that I had decided to co-organise this IPC with Cami as it was really a great experience for me.
Before starting with the games, we did the traditional RBKD 1+3 introduction which Kah Yin explained to us. After which, we got down to serious business – the board gaming.
We played a total of 4 games in which 3 we played were acting games (helping to groom more talent for Singapore’s media industry haha) and there were many funny occasions, especially for one of the acting game.
I must admit that it was really awkward in the beginning as everyone was new to each other and haven’t “warmed upâ€. But I feel that it got better as we started to play more games and I’m glad to have made much more new friends that day. I really hoped that everyone enjoyed themselves that day and I’m definitely looking forward to much more IPCs in the future.

The day of the MINDS café IPC is also the day when I realized I was no longer the youngest in RBKD. On the way to the café, I told Regin, “We are like on some secondary school class outing, everyone are walking in 2 by 2!†At the café, we started off with the usual 3 + 1. A bit awkward but still it’s fun getting to know everyone. Playing Taboo was really funny seeing how everyone describing what they want us to say without saying the taboo word.
We started to play another game which is like charades but just a harder version of it. We only had about 15 seconds to do actions that let our team guess what we are acting. I guess after this game, we really know about the meaning of image thrown away!
Overall it was really very fun and I had enjoyed myself really well knowing a few more people like Cami, Joanne and a few others. It was a short meetup for old members and a bonding session for everyone! Hope everyone had fun!

Ethan, Participant:
It was my first time going for IPC with RBKD and it was a little bit ‘paiseh’ as I did not know much people then. But things started to get better when we started to introduce ourselves through 3+1.The people there were friendly, sociable and was easy to get along with. We played games such as Taboo, murderer…The atmosphere was cool as everyone was enjoying the games as well as happy laughing away. It was fun to get to know more new friends through this IPC and I believe that I will get to know more people through other upcoming IPCs.I sincerely thank the organizers for organizing this IPC and I look 4ward to other IPCs ahead.

What: Sing Your Heart Out!!
When: 28th May 2011
Where: Kbox @ SCAPE
Participant(s): Angela, Berlin, Candice, Elaine, Joanne, Kah Yin, Mandy and Zi Lei
—
Candice, Organiser:
KBOX session was really crazy!
Those little kids really make the place like their house. They also get crazy when they were singing Rui En’s song and make it sound like a concert. LOL. Another thing, we found The In Laws subtheme song. We had good food and drinks and a nice dinner after the session.

Elaine, Participant:
Kbox session was crazy!
The moment we went into our room, Candice and Berlin started screaming like mad while me and Zi Lei made ourselves at home. When Rui En’s song was being played, all of us went crazy and ignored Candice when she and the Kbox person came in to tell us that Hotdog is not available. LOL. After 4 hours of singing, we walked all the way to The Cathay to have our dinner together. It was very fun and I made new friends! ^^

Zi Lei, Participant:
It’s been almost a year since the last kbox IPC that I participated in, and again I am glad to meet new members and have a chance to interact with them. On the way to dinner and while we were eating dinner, we had time to chat with each other and bond as well. Looking forward to more singing IPCs!

These trophies, all too familiar to us, yet all too distant at the same time. How many can claim that you have touched the trophies, much less “own” it?
We were the most contented when Rui En dedicated her awards to RBKD, little did we know that it was for real.
We were most shocked when Rui En presented these trophies to RBKD at the mini gathering (the OMY Singapore Entertainment Awards 2011 – Most Popular Local TV Actor 2011 & Star Awards 2011 – Most Favourite Female Character). It was unimaginable.
To Rui En, the rationale was simple enough. These awards are a result of the efforts of fans who voted for her whole-heartedly in the two popularity awards, it is hers as much as it is her fans’.
These trophies are ours, and by “ours” I meant, RBKD & Rui En’s.
It is this bond we share that defines us.
Those untouchable trophies, now belonging to us.
That day, when I brought them home, for fear of dropping them, I hugged the bags containing the trophies, as tightly as I could. It was really heavy, but it was a heavy “burden” I and everyone in RBKD, would hold dear to our hearts.
Ours. Truly ours. But we won’t keep it for forever. The next time we see her, it would be our time to present them back to her. Because it’s ours, her included :)
Signing off,
Xinyi
Club President.

Just sharing a conversation between my Mum and I….
Mum: They are all older than you?
Me: Yup.
Mum: How did you get to know them?
Me: Just get to know lar (I really really didn’t want to elaborate so much on it initially…)
Mum: Fanclub ah?
Me: Yar….
Mum: At least they are of a good influence to you.
Me: Yup, I know
Mum: And your Chinese (in terms of conversing in Chinese) seems to have improved recently…
Me: Yar, I know Have been talking to them recently thats why. You should be happy right?
Mum: Definitely. At least I won’t be hearing you conversing with Chinese and English “here and there”.
This is just my mum I guess… To be honest, I was really surprised but at the same time very happy that she actually said that since she has a serious misconception of me knowing people who are older than me not to mention through the cyber world and a fanclub. She was happy that other then going for events, we are doing something meaningful (I was telling her about the food distribution which we did previously and the reason behind the cans of sardines and packets of bread in our house).
I thought I should share this really short text conversation as well…
Me: Thank you.
Mum: Sorry 4 this morning. Tell yr group keep it up. Gb. Mum learn something from you 2 n let share knowledge n ideal
(My mum ain’t good at texting at all….. )
I quarreled with my mum over the phone just because of the bread and sardines on Saturday morning actually. I have to admit, she was really unhappy about it initially. The reason why I text her “Thank you.” after placing everything in the house was that at least she was understanding and I was really thankful for that. Her reply just made my day even better

My mum used to strongly object me of “chasing idol”, or even joining a fanclub. And when she knew tat I’m joining RBKD, she would always say:”U know it’s dangerous to know ppl on the web…” etc etc. -.- But throughout all these year, I think she realised how this fanclub had influence me postively (Of course I didn’t tell her what crazy things we did la, but I think she knows it), all the things we did together (like studying tgt!) and about all these recent charity act through my sis (I didn’t know of this until she told me!), she really come into accepting it and I guess, currently in the process of supporting.
And this is what I always wanted.

We collected our yanyan and picked the lozenges from a bag of them. We grabbed the trophies tightly after it was carefully handed to us, and we took pictures with Rui En’s trophies! They were unexpectedly heavier than we thought and so we were a little shocked. It felt a little weird to have our hands on the trophies.
—
Berlin, Priority Member:
Was glad and happy that RE bought lozenges and yanyan for us as she knew that we will most properly lose our voice after star awards 1 & 2. How sweet of her :> it’s very special! I didn’t eat the lozenges yet! It’s still on my table ‘rotting’ hahaha. Whenever I sees it, it reminds me of RE!! really hope that she’s coping well at KL now! God bless!
