Wow, another year come so fast, it seems like only yesterday that I wished you on your 6th Anniversary… Same as last year, Happy 7th Anniversary, RBKD!!! Wish you more great years ahead…
The only thing I would want to wish you, which is different from last year, is good health for all members, and their families in this fan club, as well as our Queen, Rui En… I know the haze problem is really bad there.. Stay healthy, you guys…

Dear RBKD,
I’m very grateful to have Rui En as my idol. She’s the reason who makes me smile with her cute expressions. Two major shows I love the most are the Dream Makers and Poetic Justice. I really wish to be able to see DaiEn again.
On this occasion for the 7th anniversary, I would like to send my best regards and best wishes to Rui En and her RBKD to stay together forever. Jiayou! Queenie. I wish you will be acting in more dramas because I really love watching your parts. Be healthy and stay young forever, Queen En.
Best wishes,

Hey RBKD,
I’m a Singaporean who loves Rui En… to the point of idolisation I would say. I’m enamoured by her subtle acting skills in an industry of over exaggeration. I’m impressed by how one gaze, glance, or tear can exude a multitude of layered emotions (top actress, excluding the veterans?). Some say she’s cold and distant, some say she’s a diva, but honestly, even if they were true, who the hell cares? She’s in this industry to provide us with entertainment by breathing life into various characters and we shouldn’t care about her personal life. One’s personality or flaws doesn’t really dictate how skilful they are in their craft.
Haters gonna hate, but I can say for a fact that Rui En’s acting has brought me great joy and made me feel real emotions in a Singaporean drama (I haven’t cried because of a Singaporean drama before and the last episode of Happy Family made me shed tears). I started to take notice of her during Unriddle (I watched her old dramas including Happy Family last year) ‘cuz she was this cool, badass, awesomely outfitted policewoman, XiaoMan, but she wasn’t perfect and Unriddle 2 really seeked to bring out the flaws in her. I was beyond impressed with her performance in Unriddle 2 (definitely deserved those awards!).
Unfortunately, I moved to Canada in ’07, but every time I visit SG in the summer, I would watch any of her “now-airing” dramas loyally. Now, I never fail to catch all her dramas on toggle and she has “de-stressed” me on many occasions (all dramas on repeat!). 5 years of idolization and many more to come! On that note, Happy birthday, RBKD! Thank you for dutifully supporting Rui En at many award shows and events on behalf of all of us who can’t be there (locally or internationally)!

Happy 7th anniversary RBKD
It has been a long journey of 7 years, even though I’m not part of RBKD but we are one big family as a whole as Rangels. I am glad that my Rangel journey these years brought me great joy and happiness. There were times when I was feeling really down but your constant updates on social media made my day every single moment, for that I am truly thankful for.
RBKD is a fanclub which is very unique unlike other fanclubs. Besides showing your support to Rui En, each and every one of you guys are also really really kind doing voluntary work which dawned on me that even though I’m busy I can still fork out time to volunteer.
My very first encounter with RBKD was at the SG50 Botanic Gardens performance. I remembered some of you guys were giving out ponchos to the public, my friend was one of them who recieved it. Thank you so much for being the best fanclub I have ever encountered to us Rangels even though we aren’t RBKD members but have a common thing which is supporting Rui En.
Let us all continue to work together, be it by showing support or doing stuff which our queEN really loves us to do. Wishing you all a happy anniversary and to many more great years ahead!! Thankful for everything, I’m truly proud and grateful to be part of this family which brings me joy and forging beautiful friendships. Have a great anniversary!! ♥

It is a great joy to see how Rui En and RBKD have grown and matured over the years. While enjoying En’s fabulous performance on TV dramas, it was RBKD who brought us closer to her by capturing her many other precious moments like the yearly countdown events, roadshows, Facebook, Instagram, and so on. It really helped us stay connected, and visiting RBKD site has become a daily priority “must-do” for us fans indeed. We all like her for who she is and RBKD is the unrelenting pillar and unstoppable force behind her, helping to represent voices from “silent supporters” like myself.
Thanks for the fantastic efforts and great lengths RBKD has gone to over all these years. I wish you many more great years ahead, growing from strength to strength.

6 facts about weareone: our sixth chapter
#1: This is the 1st time ever that we video-called members from overseas during the cake cutting session!
#2: It’s the 2nd year that we are having a “round-the-table-dinner”! Well it basically means that we all gather around a big table with lots of yummy food in the middle hehe.
#3: 3 members came down extra early to decorate the place with their self-made deco! (kudos Jasmine, Zhiqing and Yunxian you girls did a great job!)
#4: Well, initially we intended to use 4 steamboats for the night but due to multiple power trips we ended up only using 2 out of 4 haha!
#5: Did you know this is the 5th time that we are dressed in COLORS for the celebration?
#6: Last but not least, this is the 6th year that we are celebrating weareone together as oneRBKD.
I think every weareone celebration is special in its own way and this year’s is no exception. Thank you everyone for making 15 November every year extra meaningful.
It’s been a great year, here’s to a greater year ahead together as oneRBKD!
–
Jasmine, Priority Member:
It’s the time of the year again! Time flies by in a breeze and RBKD is already celebrating our 6th anniversary. As again, it was really more of the company rather then the food. It felt more like a heartwarming homecoming dinner.
Being able to part of RBKD for these past 4 years has been a great experience. Without a doubt, RBKD has sure grown to be stronger and wiser throughout the years. It is such a joy to be able to be part of this celebration. :)
–
Madeline, Priority Member:
This year’s weareone celebrations were particularly memorable for me, because I was able to ‘attend’ the gathering even though I wasn’t in Singapore.
We had our very own mini-gathering in Leeds, UK, concurrently while everyone else back in Singapore was enjoying their steamboat dinner. We had a great time catching up over lunch home-cooked by Lydia – the chicken rice we had was probably good enough to rival the food everyone was enjoying back home :P
We managed to video-call everyone back in Singapore and witness the cake cutting session, as well as RBKD’s traditional never-ending-ear-popping yum seng. It was also great seeing other overseas members from Australia and China on screen (videoception haha).
Really thankful to have been part of this year’s celebrations, and I had a great time meeting up with fellow RBKD members. Seeing all the familiar faces that day definitely made the long train rides all worth it :)

What: RBKD Newspaper Collection Drive
When: 1 & 2 November 2014
Where: All around Singapore
–
Angela, Participant:
If you want to do charity but not sure how, a good start will be to join RBKD’s newspaper collection.
You only need to keep as much newspapers as you can (at least ankle height). RBKD will arrange for collection, sell them and donate the money to charity.
Although I kept only ankle height of newspapers, I used my place for a friend who had kept more than knee height but was unable to store them.
On the day of collection, RBKD came to my place to collect the newspapers. Feels happy to be able to do a part for charity. Thanks RBKD!
–
Yanling, Participant:
Newspaper drive this year included going to a private company to collect boxes of paper. As it was on a weekday, we could only rely on a van to transport the papers.
Upon the sight of the whole chunk of boxes, we realised we needed more than 5 trips (and maybe much more) to be able to clear everything!
The boss nicely helped us with the loading of the boxes but our van could only take that many boxes each time.. Thankfully, we met a really nice supervisor uncle on our 2nd trip to the recycling center, who introduced a garang guni uncle to us. With the help of the uncle and his assistant, we loaded one whole big lorry of boxes and cleared allllll the boxes within one day!

What: Annual Giving (Volunteering) – Free Breakfast Project
When: 25 October 2014
Participants: Adelyn, Allan, Jiamin, Joanne, Shu Pei, Yeeling
–
Shu Pei, Participant:
Free breakfast was provided for elderly at the service centre, and also included a talk on how to apply and use ATM cards. This is to help the elderly receive aid from the government. The talk was given by a representative in English, but a volunteer helped to translate it into Hokkien.
When the talk ended, we assisted the old folks to fill in the application form for the ATM cards. The elderly had Mee Goreng and coffee for breakfast. As there was not enough people, we were 手忙脚乱 when distributing the food. I noticed that a lot of the old folks did not eat their food or left it half eaten, and it was almost 11am. Upon asking, I found that they were keeping the food for lunch. Some elderly also stayed back to chat with each other after the event ended. I find that the centre is a good place for the elderly to meet up and accompany each other. The elderly would not feel lonely when they have activities they can enjoy as a group.
–
Adelyn, Participant:
The breakfast project held on 25 October is a memorable day for me even though I’m new. This project gives me the opportunity to interact with the lower income families and letting me know how blessed I am. If given another chance, I will continue to participate in projects like this.

Waking up early in the morning on a weekend… definitely not something anyone would do, including me. But for a good cause, we are here at Bukit Merah View, doing voluntary work! *Yays with thick eyebags*
I would say that it is really nice to have such events where the centres give free breakfast to the elderlies, as it was really pleasing to see that such little things that you do, could bring big smiles to the elderlies. It was rather hectic at my place, as when we started preparing for the breakfast, elderlies also started to crowd around our booths.
We had some communication problems too as 3 of us don’t speak fluent Cantonese, but luckily we managed to pull through!
Definitely something nice to start up your day doing something meaningful, and I also hope that we can be involved in other kinds of charity events like this other than making breakfast.

Celest, Participant:
I am pleased to participate in RBKD’s “Year End Volunteering†activity.
On a Saturday morning at THK Seniors Activity Centre @ Henderson, we began preparing breakfast by spreading butter and kaya on the white bread, and pouring out 3-in-1 coffee into cups. Soon the elderly residing at the neighbourhood, started making their entrance one by one into the centre and sat down at the table while waiting to be served. From the looks on their faces, I could tell that they were really looking forward to the breakfast. As we served them coffee and bread with a plain spread of kaya and butter, they ate and drank with satisfaction, notwithstanding. A few of them even expressed their gratitude before they left, which I did not expect at all.
How many of us would be easily contented eating bread with only kaya and butter? I personally do eat bread too almost every morning, but with a change in my bread spreads everyday.
Being a volunteer in this “Free Breakfast Project†has indeed been a meaningful one for me.

Wow, has it really been 6 years? Feels way longer.
Thank you not only for the support you have given me but also for the support given to all the charities.
This year, let the focus not be on ourselves but on how to contribute to others and society. Let’s make this anniversary about that.
Lovin’ ya.

My Little Friend,
Thank you for entering our lives.
Thank you for teaching us life lessons, and how to be a better person.
You will continue to grow, and perhaps find fewer new experiences that excite.
But remember, each and every experience, no matter how similar, is actually different. Just like your birthdays.
Continue to inspire, continue to be our invisible best friend.
Thank you, for being just what you are now.
Happy Birthday, RBKD! Happy Sixth Anniversary!
We’ll be here, growing up with you :)
.
Loving you a lot,
Xinyi.
