光阴似箭，转眼间，瑞不可当迎来了它的六周岁生日。在知道谁是瑞恩之前，我是一个从来不看新加坡连续剧的人。2013年无意间看到了《微笑正义》这部连续剧，觉得很好看，一口气就把它看完了。当时女主角深深地吸引了我的目光。于是就不停搜索她的资料，得知她叫瑞恩。之后就在网上查找和她相关的资料，始发现RBKD这个以支持瑞恩为主的粉丝团。从网上看到的视频，新闻，不难发现，这六年期间，只要有瑞恩的活动，成员们就肯定风雨不改地去活动现场，举着“RBKD”的大纸牌，挂着印有瑞恩样子的布条，大声地喊口号支持她。每当有瑞恩的新闻和影片，你们也一定在第一时间上载到网上让我们阅读及观赏。

最令我感到感动的是，在瑞恩远赴麻坡拍摄剧集《正义武馆》期间，粉丝团还趁有时间空档，前往拍摄现场探班。除此之外，瑞不可当在新加坡也常常积极地做善事，帮助一些有需要的人，而且还会在瑞恩的生日时，做善事来替她庆生。这令我感动十分感动，因为我不曾见过粉丝团会以这种方式替偶像庆祝，这是一个非常有意义的事，我衷心佩服及欣赏。

六年了，说短不短，说长不长，可是这期间你们付出的一切，大家有目共睹。相信瑞恩也会因为有你们这一班粉丝而感到无比的骄傲。

Once again it’s the time of the year to celebrate your birthday!

Time really does fly past and I actually remembered when I first wrote the well wishes for RBKD’s fifth anniversary last year ^^

This year has been the one with the most experiences, including that of first time going for bridging, first time attending an event, and first time I’ve ever participated in so many things! Looking back from last year, my bucket list can pretty much be crossed off.

Thank you for always trying to organise so many things so that even us Rangels who used to ‘hide in a corner’ could actually find others who have the same interests. I must say that it was through these activities that helped me find some of my closest friends!

We were lucky enough to be sitting right next to RBKD at Star Awards and it was truly an amazing experience screaming along and cheering for her. The amount of pride there was when she walked on stage to receive the prizes.

I didn’t want this to be too long so, Happy Anniversary RBKD! Thank you for always putting in all the effort for every single thing and for being so detailed and organised. I still do think that this fan club is the most considerate and bonded one!

First of all, Happy 6th anniversary! Which also means, being by Rui En’s side for 6 years! Thanks RBKD for doing so much for her, and supporting her genuinely all these years. I’m so happy to see how much she’s grown and soared to greater heights the past few years. I’m thankful that she has such a good fanclub and a good admin in this fanclub. I really appreciate the fact that this fanclub is so disciplined. But this fanclub couldn’t have gone far without the help of the president & Rui En herself. It’s not easy to have come so far. And RBKD has done a wonderful job! Your systematic operations have always left me in awe. I have witnessed how RBKD puts in immerse effort to coordinate Rangels during events, such as screaming ‘Rui En’ in harmony or when trending Rui En worldwide on Twitter. I have never seen another fan club that has done this so nicely. RBKD is also such a thoughtful fan club. At the ATT roadshow, I witnessed RBKD presenting flowers to artistes, like Chris Lee and Zheng Ge Ping, who didn’t have fan clubs. I was so touched by that scene. I asked myself if I would have thought of others like how RBKD did. I couldn’t give an answer…

Continue supporting Rui En for the coming years! Secondly, thanks Rui En for being my source of motivation and inspiration. Whenever I feel discouraged or feel like giving up, I am always encouraged by your quotes that never fail to give me strength to fight on. Throughout my years of being your fan, I have gained a lot. For always doing your best in protecting her and wanting the best for her. For giving her unconditional love, and placing her welfare above all else at crucial times. Seeing her smile and laugh heartily, is our joy.

You guys are truly an inspiration.

Hope filming has been smooth for Rui En, and please take care while having a great time in Paris! Love the photos that she took. I miss her

Wow~

The journey with RBKD has been nothing short of magical.

Each of you, each of us, we probably have our own RBKD story.

Checking in on RBKD’s website / forum / social media accounts regularly has become a habit for too many of us. No?

We didn’t start with big ambitions, but we do have a simple intent:

“All for Rui En.”

May this stay true and may we continue traversing the road less traveled together, for our eternal lux veritas.

How time flies and now we are celebrating our fifth chapter.

I still remember vividly my first RBKD anniversary celebration was weareone: our second chapter.

Every anniversary celebration just brings back fond memories.

This year’s 放天灯 should be the highlight I suppose. Carefully opening up the lantern, writing wishes, tying string, lighting it up and sending it up to the sky with all our wishes and hoping it will all come true. Though it is not done in the usual traditional way, it’s definitely a unique RBKD experience.

The individual and definition video would be the other best part of this celebration. I’m sure majority of us felt so awkward seeing and listening to ourselves on screen. But no doubt it’s a great platform for us to understand why RBKD is so special and unique to each and everyone of us. Lastly, thanks everyone for making this celebration an awesome and beautiful one.

Let’s all stay united and sail through the rest of the journey together.

星期四期待星期五的到来，结果，偶又失眠了，因为万分期待。虽然精神累，但是心还是热的，我记得那天是大包小包的到chalet,哈哈…一到案发现场，我们就开始整理，布置了，还在背景及漂亮的照片。

到了傍晚，Rangels陆陆续续到来了，接着En也到了。说真的，我没有发现她的存在，哈哈，可以看见她很爱这个fanclub，我们的存在是因为她的存在，万事都互相效应，也很感谢她让我能在这里认识一些人，事，物；我爱你们大家。

这次也是我第一次放孔明灯，之前都因为有个顾虑，怕撞到飞机，也谢谢这次可以让我很安心的抛开顾虑的随意而飞。我记得我写，身体健康，美梦成真， 美若天仙，吃饱饱，睡好好（Jean教唆）的。虽然我一向都拒绝”班当”，但是，偶尔大家可以让自己开心的事是好的，这也许是个简单又美丽的期望，但是 不是都可以实践。

接着，还有自己写的拔罐风铃给RBKD的祝福语。

接下来，就说今年的蛋糕特别漂亮，但是，好甜哦！隔天，我们到了Irodori吃晚 餐，谢谢各位的抽空时间陪我们。过后，我记得我有和大家握手当作回礼，不要忘记我哦!

在此，要谢谢你们大家的用心，策划，一切一切都不容易。谢谢你们的付出，才有这次美好的时光，除了谢谢也很感恩自己也在其中。

Even though I left the celebrations early, there were are the few things that left an impression on me:

The video which Lionel and Phyllis recorded, it was indeed a huge effort for them to record that video describing what RBKD is about. I personally was amazed by their effort in spending a whole day just to record the video.

Members were each given a wind chime to have their well wishes for the club written on it. I like this idea because everyone got to write down their thoughts on it. We got to bring it home, which makes it feel like you brought a part of RBKD back with you.

The cake cutting session where all the members would gather together with Rui En, where everyone would shout for the toasting session.

It does feel good to have this chalet where you get to see other members whom you don’t see very often.

I.had.been.waiting.for.this.

I simply couldn’t wait for this celebration after experiencing the 3rd weareone celebration 2 years earlier. It definitely felt like time had gone back to 2 years ago when we were celebrating it at the very same chalet unit as we used back then. It is like the ‘annual dinner’ of RBKD, a time for all Rangels to come together to mark our anniversary, to have new birthday wishes for the coming years and of course, to gather and catch up with each other.

It felt like such a joyous occasion that couldn’t have gotten better when Rui En made the special and surprising appearance to join us that night. We watched the videos edited by our dedicated committee that made us recall some crazy things we had done over the past 5 years or so, and I really like these moments because we share it together. :D

Then it was the yamseng and photo-taking session. We Yam~~~~ as long as we could (a must-do at every celebration) and then had our photo-taking session, which I feel was the most important because group photos are the best way to demonstrate RBKD’s family spirit.

The highlight of the night was undoubtedly the sky lanterns. It is a traditional yet unique way of wishing RBKD the very best.

That night, we released so many of them that towards the end we simply couldn’t think of anything more to write! (Wishes like Rangels are all 美若天仙 even cropped up :P)

I tried to stay up overnight and wanted to watch the sunrise at 630am, so a bunch of us were refusing to sleep at 4am but……it was too tiring and once one fell asleep, others followed because it was contagious hahaha :D

I feel really honoured to be part of RBKD and the celebrations, many thanks to the committee for organising this. Joanne once again received me after I touched down and showed me around. Maintaining a club is never easy; it is a new beginning for us after reaching our 5th birthday and I hope that this weareone annual celebration will keep going on until the 10th and beyond! :D

What: Our RBKD Story: My Rangel Chapter

It was really interesting to watch Rangels’ individual videos at this year’s 5th anniversary celebration. I had a multitude of feelings, accompanied by both tears and laughter. Because to me, they were all heartfelt words expressed sincerely by us; regardless of whether we are calm, cool, shy, soft-spoken or crazy, funny, outspoken in front of the camera.

As for me, I have never done such a thing before, at the most only self-shots. It was not an entirely smooth self-filming process as I had to pose accurately in front of the camera to ensure ideal lighting with the right filming angle and my audible voice. Nevertheless, with Yanling’s help, I managed to come out with a satisfactory one eventually. Although I actually had to do many takes, I certainly enjoyed doing every take. They were special moments and all worth it.

So if you are to ask me what is my most memorable experience this year? It would absolutely be doing an individual video of myself for RBKD. Thank you for all the stories shared. And indeed, what a simple and unique birthday gift from everyone!

This year, in commemoration with RBKD’s 5th Anniversary, we were all tasked to do an individual video each to share with one another on our most memorable moment in RBKD.

Initially, I had no idea what it was for and hence just did as tasked. Luckily, we had a certain format to follow and hence I did not have to worry about not doing the right thing.

Even though it may be troublesome and perhaps time-consuming, the end product is really awesome and is definitely worth the amount of time and effort spent doing it. Years down the road, I’ll definitely be thankful for the video for it reminds us of all the memorable moments in RBKD.

“OMG! Can I not do it?” That was the first thought that came to my mind when I received the text from Yanling about the video project. Never had I thought that I would ever record a video of myself for others to see but yes, there’s always the virgin attempt. So I decided to make the video and this would be something that I can look back in the future.

Being a first-timer, it was quite an experience to record a video of myself. From the stacking of magazines and notes to obtain an appropriate height to the adjustment of the phone to get an appropriate angle to ensuring that my voice was loud enough and lastly, to overcome the nervousness. It was definitely not an easy feat. Although I still find it rather embarrassing, I’m glad to be part of this project and it has been a memorable experience.

What: RBKD: Of Things That Define Us

Our SOP (standard operating procedure) before we start filming each time. I am sure everyone involved in the filming can remember this!

The “events” video was a really memorable experience for me as we had to travel around Singapore (5 locations) in ONE day and get everything done within the day. Well technically we took only about 12 hours :P

MBS > Mediacorp > Serangoon > Punggol > MBS > Sentosa (!!!!!)

From braving the heat at MBS to trying to “hide” our RBKD tees at Mediacorp’s entrance to sneaking into the compass ballroom for filming, each location really left us some good memory!

When we were recalling the events that happened at each venue, it was like a trip down memory lane. I can’t believe that we have actually been through so many events together as one RBKD in these 5 years! Every event has something special to each and every one of you and hopefully this video has helped everyone to recall some of them :)

I think this idea of a “definition video” by the organizing committee is really a good one. Although it was tiring to repeat our lines over and over again, and to sit/stand under the sun for a long time, I am sure the end product was definitely worth it!

Well, another definition video 5 years later again? Haha!

Being part of the definition video was certainly an eye-opening experience as to what filming a video possibly entails. Not only do you have to ensure the lighting of the environment, you have to be aware of every single word and (facial) expression used! We went to different locations to film the definition videos and while it was time consuming and energy sapping, the overall effect of the videos made everything worthwhile.

I do hope that the video brings out the essence of what RBKD does and what we are all about, and in the meantime, provide everyone a form of entertainment as well as conversation starter. Cheers everyone, and happy 5th anniversary!

I consider myself privileged to be able take part in the weareone Spring Cleaning. This experience left me reflecting on my own blessedness and determination to do more whenever possible.

I was tasked to pack and clean up the kitchen area so that we could give the kitchen a fresh coat. Cockroaches came crawling/ flying out from all directions when we were cleaning the kitchen. That was the greatest obstacle that we faced. Most of us were afraid of these little insects, so cans of Baygon spray were always by our side so that we could spray at them instantaneously before they could come close to us! This was the first time I have seen so many roaches (in the hundreds) ranging from baby to adult – one very apt Chinese phrase to describe this is 祖宗三代.

It took us 5 full days to “transform” this little unit into a warm and inviting home. What warmed my heart were the commitment and the enduring spirit that Rangels have shown during the spring cleaning. All of them put in 101% effort in all areas, even in the littlest tasks such as clearing the rubbish. No one uttered a word of complaint; in fact, everyone was cleaning the house with a joyous spirit.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Rui En join us in this spring cleaning activity. She dirtied her hands by packing and cleaning the house, and she also witnessed the flying insects and braved it together with us even though that’s her greatest fear! One incident I remembered vividly was when she actually climbed up the kitchen cabinet and joined me to scrub the kitchen grill on the last night of our work. She also chatted with us while working, and also with the family members as well as their neighbours. She enjoyed herself thoroughly and served humbly.

One thing that I experienced is that serving and giving derives much more joy than receiving.

Madeline, Participant:

I’m very grateful to have been part of this year’s weareone spring cleaning project. I joined the team for the first 2 weeks of spring cleaning, where we cleaned out the flat in the first week and scrubbed the flat the next week.

I still remember the first time I stepped into the flat – I simply could not comprehend how such a large family could all fit into, much less live in such a small and cluttered space. At that moment, the idea of cleaning out the entire flat seemed so daunting, but thankfully once we started the packing and sorting, the mountain of clothes and bags slowly started to disappear.

On one of the days, a few of us were tasked to clear out the kitchen area, which was full of opened food items and cockroaches ranging from egg to monstrosity. We were all quite afraid of picking up the cockroach-infested items and ended up spraying the can of (useless) Baygon most of the time, and so things were progressing pretty slowly. Everything changed when May Yen came and was able to speak in Malay to the owner of the flat who allowed us to throw everything away, which speeded up the process quite considerably. Having never seen so many cockroaches in my life before, this was quite an experience for me.

It was very heartening to see how welcoming the family was – the lady owner trusted us so much with her belongings even though I could barely communicate a word with her, and the kids looked forward to our presence and were so full of energy while they helped us with the cleaning.

It was also quite a surprise to see Rui En join us on several occasions. It’s not every day that you get to see your idol lug trash bags across the corridor or bend down next to you to sort food packages, and then appear on your TV screen the very next day. Seeing her sincerity in giving back to the society and helping out so earnestly really made me respect her even more.

Even though I wasn’t around towards the end of the project, seeing the photos of the happy family in their clean & newly-painted flat really made my day. It would take a lot of effort on the family’s part to prevent things from reverting back to their original state, but I’m glad that we did whatever we could, and were able to make a difference to this family.
