My name is …. and I am ….

My name is Jean; currently studying in Temasek Polytechnic.

Me and RBKD:

Joined RBKD in 2008 and I guess that was how everything started :)

1) Memorable and unforgettable moment(s) in RBKD was …….

Board-making sessions.

Weekends can be burnt just for board-making but the end result just seems so fulfilling with a sense of achievement though time-consuming.

I guess I can never forget the process of the blue & green boards when I had to draw a letter “R” out which was sort of disastrous since it was my first time doing it and the markings were so messed up till the extent of even I myself could not tell which point to meet which point. Haha! (Above photo as prove).

What I learnt about board-making in RBKD? Precision and mathematical skills are an “essential”. Hahaha!

2) I have learnt in RBKD that……..

-With perseverance and diligence, nothing is impossible.

-One can’t always be on the receiving end.

3) My favourite IPC is …… because …….

Pulau Ubin Hike & Bike

Cycling in Pulau Ubin = More “kick” = More than the usual muscle aches you get from cycling in Singapore.

First time to Pulau Ubin and it was with RBKD. It was just filled with so much laughter even though at the end of the day, those who cycled, suffered from serious muscle ache. Haha!

4) This is my favourite photo(s) taken in RBKD because …..

Self-thought caption: “HAHAHAHAHA!”

Everyone just seems happy:)

5) I hope to go for an IPC in future that is ……

All about food = Buffet/Food trail around Singapore! :D

P/S: For this, I don’t mind eating after 8PM:) HAHAHA!

My name is …. and I am ….

My name is Weijen and I am now a student studying in Penang.

Me and RBKD :

Never expected to seriously join a FC…RBKD is the first and i hope it will last for as long as I know.

1) Memorable and unforgettable moment(s) in RBKD was ……

I actually don’t know how to answer this but I hope to let all Rangels know the things you guys have done over the years do really relate to me, though i could not be physically be with you guys. I love to watch videos where you guys are screaming for her, where you guys had fun together, on fc bday or 31st Dec whatever.

I watched the video in this post and seriously, I can’t stop laughing. Although I could not hear clearly what was said but the earthquake and 土产 are hilarious!! because I often misinterpret what my friends said too and it is very embarrassing!

2) I have learnt in RBKD that……..

To give without expecting return. This is important and I really experience this in RBKD. Sometimes our life is too complicated that we often neglect the simplest things that make us happy. Thank you Rangels for teaching me this.

The committee are brilliant and they are the ones that epitomize the RBKD spirit. It is not easy to maintain a club and fan page. I know this because I am engaged in a student organization in my college too. It is not easy to organize activities, with such perseverance and efficiency. The introduction to volunteering is undoubtedly the cream of the crop.

3) My favourite IPC is …… because …….

Orientation 2011 because 1st step is always important as it reached out to all the new members. To me, 1st time meeting is always special, because people are usually shy on our 1st meeting but as time passes by, when one person is gradually showing his true colours, looking back on the 1st meeting will make me amazed =D

4) This is my favourite photo(s) taken in RBKD because …..

A meaningful and unique birthday gift.

5) I hope to go for an IPC in future that is ……

I love activity that cultivates teamwork and involves some sort of team-building, preferably sports and outdoor.

6) Words/pic to share with RBKD:

Thanks for being part of my life. I never expected to join a FC, never expected to learn so much in a FC, never expected that RBKD is so different from the FC I perceived as before. It is true; you need to become a Rangel to know how united RBKD is, because we are one.

My name is Celest and I am currently working.

Me and RBKD:

I chanced upon RBKD in November 2008 but only joined the fanclub in June last year. Though my journey as a member in RBKD is short, I must say I was attached to this club ever since 2008. Being part of this big family has indeed brought joy and ‘colors’ to my life and I will always be grateful for all the moments spent together.

1) Memorable and unforgettable moment(s) in RBKD was …….

i) Seven.Zero.Eight (708) – I stepped out of my comfort zone to meet people whom I don’t know but that actually built a door for everyone to get to know one another. I can never forget we took so long to take our group photos and they were all very well taken. Thanks to our expert photographer.

ii) SA2011 Night 2 at RWS – It was my first time attending the Star Awards event with RBKD and it was the first time I felt that RBKD’s strength, bonding and unity was so overwhelming when we cheered, screamed and shouted. I never thought I could be involved in such craziness/ silliness……. So yup I was in a total disbelief with myself that night. It was a reality and not a dream at all.

iii) First overseas IPC trip to KL – Since it was the first overseas IPC trip organized, I wanted to give my support and also I felt that it was a great opportunity to get to know one another better (which I did), so I decided to embark on this journey. Enduring the long hours of overnight train ride and excursion van ride was the most unforgettable. Nevertheless, we were accompanied by laughters and craziness throughout the entire trip.

2) I have learnt in RBKD that……..

~ “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing”. – Helen Keller

While living, we should give ourselves the chance to explore and experience. Dare to dream and having the courage to work towards achieving it and most importantly, never live a life with regrets.

~ “Love, true love, is that which can give the most without asking or demanding anything in return”. – Unknown

We cannot predict the unexpected or prevent the unexpected from happening, however we can choose to cherish our loved ones and never take them for granted.

3) My favourite IPC is …… because …….

Badmintion IPC at Khatib. Because it was a rare opportunity to play badmintion with so many people and I really enjoyed playing with my fellow Rangels.

4) This is my favourite photo(s) taken in RBKD because …..

This group photo just appears so perfect to me, with so many different poses and so many different facial expressions. And everyone looks great too. To me, it is a wonderful family photo.

5) I hope to go for an IPC in future that is ……

Outdoor/ nature exploring IPC.

My name is …. and I am ….

Annoyhaseayo!! (Hello in Korean) My name is Joyce and I am currently a student in Temasek Polytechnic! (Come my school to try the western food! ^^) hehe.

Me and RBKD:

I’m in RBKD for more than a year already I guess? I am known as the cutest member inside there. MUHAHA. But now I want to change. Please rename me as the most adorable member because they said Cute is Ugly but Adorable. So here am I, Adorable. Whee~

1) Memorable and unforgettable moment(s) in RBKD was …….

The IPCs outings! Because we get to know each other and now even come to become close friends! Because of IPCs, we get to know lots of places that we had never been before and to try things that we had not done before! The time to meet new faces, the time to interact and introduce ourselves and the time to play with them are therefore the most memorable period! ^^

2) I have learnt in RBKD that……..

The kind of special bond that this Fanclub has. RBKD has taught me that acquaintances can become your very close friends now that you can trust your whole life with. I’ve also learnt the teamwork RBKD had. As we all know, RBKD has lots of smart people! I was inspired by them to work hard in various aspects of my life.

3) My favourite IPC is …… because …….

The first IPC that I organized I guess? Because it is my first time organizing an IPC! Thus, it’s special. (THE KBOX OUTING) *omgod, I look super toot here.

4) This is my favourite photo(s) taken in RBKD because …..

Because all our unglam faces are captured that! Isn’t that picture cute?! HAHAHA.

Reason being simple: I love this picture because we are doing charity act! Kekekeke.

5) I hope to go for an IPC in future that is ……

To visit factories!! Like the Meiji Factory!! I’ve been waiting for super long hoping to go there! :p

6) Words/pic to share with RBKD:

“When life throws you a curve ball, Keep batting and don’t give up. Learn to hit them right out into the stands and run all the bases for a home run.”

I thought it would be nice if I can convey this to RBKD. When you meet obstacles in life and I am sure there will be. You have to remember, it is these obstacles that made you a stronger person. Therefore, don’t give up easily but rather, keep on going!

My name is Charmaine and I am studying at Republic Poly Diploma in Bio Medical Sciences.

Me and RBKD:

From RBKD and because of RBKD, I met Joyce, Rachael and my “twin” and we have Family Tree (FT), thus, I am always thankful for RBKD, because I made friends, good friends and sisters.

1) Memorable and unforgettable moment(s) in RBKD was …….

The RBKD orientation! It was the first time so many members came together for the orientation and we had a lot of fun going around Sentosa.  My group was running around Sentosa and we won the amazing race! smile I made many new friends during the orientation. It was quite fun working together with everybody to figure out the clues and doing the task allocated to us. I hope we would have orientations every year!

2) I have learnt in RBKD that……..

The endless voting and the overlapping of the voting periods taught me perseverance. Although it was not easy, given that the period of voting was quite long, but made it through. We had to persevere till the end to see the results and our hard work pay off.

3) My favourite IPC is …… because …….

My favourite IPC would be bowling IPC, because it was the first time I organized an IPC with the help of Rachael. It was quite fun although not everybody turned up, but it was still very fun. And RBKD has 2 guys that are very good in bowling. :p

4) This is my favourite photo(s) taken in RBKD because …..

Although it was a small group of us, but it was quite fun.

5) I hope to go for an IPC in future that is ……

I hope to have an IPC that is more related to fine arts, we never seem to have any IPC relating to the arts.

6) Words/pic to share with RBKD:

TEAM –
Together
Everyone can
Achieve
More

My name is …. and I am ….

Hello! I’m Kah Yin and I’m currently studying at YJC, a year 1 student. :)

Me and RBKD:

I joined the fanclub in 2008, the year when the new RBKD was formed. To think back, I was hesitating at first whether to join or not. But now, I can proudly say I did not regret joining. From us being “nameless” to “Dang-er” and finally “Rangel”, I’m glad to grow with RBKD all these while and have learnt a lot. I’m proud to be a Rangel! :D

1) Memorable and unforgettable moment(s) in RBKD was …….

(a) Coming together as one to achieve goals and achievements.
(b) The fun and craziness which were never missing whenever RBKD is around.
(c) Queuing together early in the morning. And in midst of all the fun while waiting, not neglecting our schoolwork.
(d) The lung power of RBKD shouting and cheering like there is no tomorrow.
(e) Always spending the last few hours of one year and welcoming another new year together!
(g) All the friendships made.

2) I have learnt in RBKD that……..

3) My favourite IPC is …… because …….

RBKD Orientation 2011! Our first Orientation when a huge group of us were out together, like a big class outing, to have fun! And also the day with more friendships made. Not forgetting, the steamboat dinner where the fun continues. :D

4) This is my favourite photo(s) taken in RBKD because …..

RBKD welcomed year 2010 together with Prata! A pic of a huge family sitting together for supper! ^_^

After N times of jumps, with the outcome of always half of the group flying and the other half still stuck on the ground, we finally get the best shot with everyone in the air! :P

The day we won the fight. And don’t the four alphabets “RBKD” look so awesome? :D

TADAAA! It’s our big family photo!

5) I hope to go for an IPC in future that is ……

Of any kind as long as everyone is present! :P

My name is …. and I am ….

My name is Lionel and I usually introduce myself as Lion, EL. I am currently a Year 3 student in National University of Singapore, majoring in Physics.

Me and RBKD:

I got to know of RBKD in 2009 from Rui En’s FB page, and decided to try something new and unexpected – join a fanclub. I started out as being curious, trying new things, but it turns out that I am attracted to this big family and I continued to stay on.

1) Memorable and unforgettable moment(s) in RBKD was …….

Memorable: My 1st ever IPC in 2009 – Cycling at Pasir Ris Park. Why memorable? Because it’s the first activity with RBKD, 1st time meeting the club president and blah blah blah. Yup, you got the idea. :D

Unforgettable: 1st trip to Mediacorp – Unforgettable cause of the long traumatic walk from the bus stop to the station, cause it’s the 1st time attending Stars Award and having cheer, scream and shout to celebrate the rewards of our efforts.

2) I have learnt in RBKD that……..

If you have a vision, no matter how impossible it seems, work hard towards it and you might be able to achieve it.

3) My favourite IPC is …… because …….

Soccer IPC! Brings out the Lionel Messy in me.

4) This is my favourite photo(s) taken in RBKD because ….

Because it’s the 1st time I am at Mediacorp, as well as the significance of that photo – that when everyone contributes their best, we can achieve what we aimed for.

5) I hope to go for an IPC in future that ……

Full of laughter and joy (without being a nuisance to others)

6) Words to share with RBKD:

Work hard and play hard, jiayou for all those who are having exams!

My name is …. and I am ….

Bengyan and currently a year 3 student at SIM-UOL, Accounting and Finance.

Me and RBKD:

Never thought that I would make such good bunch of friends in RBKD that added in so much laughter and memories into my life. And I found myself a twin, TADA!!!! And we were known as the Bananas =D

1) Memorable and unforgettable moment(s) in RBKD was …….

i) The first step out of my comfort zone at event Seven.Zero.Eight and where I really got to know my B1 =)

ii) My very first outing with RBKD, JB road trip 2010 and it’s out of Singapore!! Will never forget how ‘adventurous’ we are and the amount of times we got lost =x

2) I have learnt in RBKD that……..

Life has no smooth road for any of us; and in the bracing atmosphere of a high aim the very roughness stimulates the climber to steadier steps, till the legend, over steep ways to the stars, fulfils itself.

3) My favourite IPC is …… because …….

Pulau Ubin Hike and Bike because I finally get to exercise by walking through-out the whole journey and simply love the fun, laughter, and craziness.

4) This is my favourite photo(s) taken in RBKD because …..

It’s the beginning of my RBKD story

Because Together We Make Things Happen

5) I hope to go for an IPC in future that is ……

Prawning. Though it’s not cheap but it can be a great relaxing leisure where friends can have great time spend together. The anticipation of prawn biting, the excitement of hooking up a prawn and the reward of a great feast of fresh BBQ prawn.

6) Words/pic to share with RBKD:

If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it.
If you don’t ask, the answer is always no.
If you don’t step forward, you’re always in the same place.

Me and RBKD:

People call us (bengyan and me) the bananas (bananas in PJ), for they think we looked too much alike. So whenever I see bananas or related, I will be reminded of the moments with RBKD :D

1) Memorable and unforgettable moment(s) in RBKD was …….

a) 708 – Orientation of 2010, because that’s my first step into this big family. From total strangers to the friends today.

b) weareone: our second chapter birthday chalet, for that’s the first birthday I celebrated for RBKD with RBKD. Esp the water fight.

*everyone is dead tired after rounds of crazy water fights :)

2) I have learnt in RBKD that……..

The power of unity.
– 1 vs everyone.

The power of belief and commitment.
– How things can be achieved, for if there is a will, there is a way.

3) My favourite IPC is …… because …….

Orientation 2011 at sentosa. Fun never ends. Awesome people, awesome activities ended with an awesome steamboat :D

4) This is my favourite photo(s) taken in RBKD because …..

My first interaction with a bunch of fun-loving fellows that brought me into RBKD.

Because WEAREONE.
Rangels unite in celebration of OUR birthday :)

5) I hope to go for an IPC in future that is ……

Dragonboating. Don’t they always say that dragonboating is a good team sports? And I think RBKD will have mad fun in the process too :)

6) Words to share with RBKD:

It’s amazing how strangers from all over can come together to form this family called RBKD. A place where fun exists, where true friendships are formed.

Of course, everything won’t be possible if not for the ever-committed team behind RBKD. Because of their existence, we can enjoy what we are enjoying today, so I just want to say a big THANK YOU to the team and everyone who contributed to RBKD in a way or another. THANK YOU!!!

And lastly, I am proud to be a Rangel :)

“Strangers are just friends waiting to happen.” ~ Rod McKuen

As the quote says, friends are made here and that laughter is always present with these bunch of people in RBKD.

1) Memorable and unforgettable moment(s) in RBKD was …….

Boards-making sessions.

As always, rushed but end-results made it all worth-while because handicrafts are unique and only to & for RBKD. Despite the harsh weathers, environments and time constraints, I re-live the process of lovable art & craft.

2) I have learnt in RBKD that …….

Give for whom you love, for whom you care and while you can. It is a happy moment that you will remember by heart because what you give makes the recipient feels blessed and smile :)

3) My favourite IPC is …… because …….

Pulau Ubin Hike & Bike. Caught a breather. Phew. Mosquito bites aside, simple comments like “Is this the mirror where we took picture?”, “Where got so clean?!” and “That girl purposely Ting-Ting at us ah?!” could make laughters and ‘arguments’ last forever – okay, at least the walk to and fro.

4) This is my favourite photo taken in RBKD because …….

The picture speaks louder. We are ONE BIG FAMILY.

5) I hope to go for an IPC in future that is ……………

Explorative. Be it photography, greenery, delicacies, sports etc.
