The night before Dramatasy, I went to queue overnight with some of the Rangels. We set off from the RBKD chalet @ Pasir Ris. After we settled down, we began to do some cards for the public. I was so tired that my handwriting got from bad to worse. So I felt really glad after I have completed writing my cards.
Then started my cool cool experience of hanging out late in a shopping mall :D It was a totally new experience. We got to walk around the mall after midnight and sleep there as well. I found it kinda fun to be able to sleep in a shopping mall. After all, not everyone has the opportunity to do so right?
During the event, it was very squeezy. But it did not stop us from SCREAMING AND SHOUTING! I was quite energetic despite the few hours of sleep and I have learnt that the lesser I sleep, the “high-er” I am! :D I’m also glad to have the chance to see many people during the event and laugh at all the jokes the hosts cracked.. haha! so funny can!! We were very enthusiastic lorhs! I love the cheers we shouted as well..

On the 19th of November, I joined RBKD for the Dramatasy event. A few rangels approached me and asked me if I want to join them for breakfast even though we don’t know each other. So nice of them:) Before the event starts, everyone was doing their part, trying to make things perfect. When the clock struck two, everyone was getting very very excited, especially peeps like me who was going to see Rui En for the very first time!
It was really an eye opener to me, as I didn’t know peeps from all parts of Singapore, and even Malaysia, can gather together as one! Prolly that was what the ONE RBKD spirit means! :) Thank you Rui En and RBKD for filling my day with full of fun and laughters!:)

I think no one can forget how excited/ crazy/ bonkers we were on that day. Its nothing else beside screaming screaming and more screaming. The feeling is just SO different when we were all there for the same reason.
The very moment we saw her face on the screen for the most crucial award, the thrill inside us can never be describable.
Dazed is the word.

“HOT!” is the best to describe the whole red carpet. Why? Because we managed to see HOT stars (especially RUI EN!!!) at that super-HOT place! Throughout the whole live telecast of the red carpet, you can see us all holding boards and shouting our lungs out for Rui En but actually, we were all suffering there! Covered with sweat from our head to our hands! And holding the super big R-U-I-E-N board was so so tiring at that place! But even so, we were still enjoying ourselves there!! :DD Because that’s RBKD! Fun in midst of everything we do! The shoulder ache and sweat were thus worth it because all the boards were seen so clearly and neatly on tv!!
—
Miaoting, Priority Member:
As we complain about the warm weather, we willingly stand inside a humid carpark for two hours. As we try our best to make sure we are clearly seen on screen (the boards), we try as hard to hide ourselves from the TV (our faces). That’s us – strange, some call us crazy, often confused – but yet absolutely clear about what we are doing all these for.
“Red Carpet” truly sounded like a super-glamorous event when it was being constantly advertised on TV for weeks following up to the actual event. But behind those scenes, for those ‘behind the stars’, it was 2 hours of sweat, muscle aches, anticipation, screaming and more. A good warm-up to the actual event of the day where we shake RWS with our powerful screams, together as one with RBKD.

“Yang Xiao Dong! Yang Xiao Dong! Yang Xiao Dong!â€
That’s our battle cry for the Stars Awards Show 1, where our dearest idol has two nominations, one of which is for the Favourite Female Character, Yang Xiao Dong in the drama serial Happy Family.
It being my first time to Mediacorp Studios, it was really an eye opener to a ‘skuaku’ (read country bumpkin) like me. Apart from being ‘surprised’ about the long walk to Caldecott Hill, I am surprised at how the whole show was being broadcasted and screened on national television. I have never seen so many stars before (except when I looked up at the night sky of Pulau Ubin. Then again, we are talking about different stars here.) Of course, the brightest star whom we are all looking out for has to be Rui En, the reason why we (RBKD) exist.
As the show progresses, when awards were given after awards, we start to feel really anxious about whether our devotion to online nomination for Rui En was sufficient. The time ticked by, getting nearer and nearer, and our fans starts to post on facebook and twitter calling and urging people who hasn’t voted to go online and do so to make our votes count and do our last for Rui En.
And finally, it’s time for the winner to be announced for the Favourite Female Character. Heartbeats raced, fist clenched, anxious of the results, and yet nervous about what would the outcome be. Will our efforts be vindicated? Will it be recognised?
When the presenter Chen Hanwei called for his ‘wife’, we were all delirious! Everyone went crazy and kept cheering, waving the billboards we brought along, showing off the prized possession – Happy Family Poster and screaming our lungs out! Finally, the time has come, for everyone of us to know that our hardwork has finally paid off and we managed to secure what we wanted for her, and recorded a breakthrough to be pen down in the history books of RBKD. (Only to be surpassed by another equally dazzling record in Show 2 – where we would see stars both figuratively and literally)

Jiamin, Secretary:
On day 2 of the event, Jean, Xinyi and I made a trip down to NEX hoping to collect more buns and sardines (the more the merrier since it is for good cause:D) We stood around for an hour at a corner and were really glad to see the public approaching us upon seeing our boxes and donating the items. The in-charge for the event noticed us and even offered us a carton of drinks! Unfortunately, we cannot accept it as it is not suitable for the elderly.
In the end, we managed to donate a total of 81 pieces of bread rolls and 81 cans of sardines to the Bishan Home.
This is not the first time we are doing charity but i always feel heartened that we are able to contribute to society in a way or another and delighted to see the happy faces of the elderly.
—
Xinyi, President:
I was pretty amused when I logged our donations in their booklet. The caretaker was complaining when I put “NA” for our address and contact, “No address again. Last time you all came to donate something before too right? Also no address. We have our reasons to ask for the address….” And so he continues. Like obedient students nagged by the teacher, we penned down our address eventually. Although we did not expect anything in return, receiving a letter of appreciation addressed to RBKD always seems to be especially encouraging. Keep it up everyone :)

RBKD was at NEX to purchase the stickmen tote bag designed by Rui En for the i-weekly 30th anniversary. It was a simple but creative design. As usual, we queued up very early and were the first in the queue again – the ethos of RBKD. Part of the proceeds went to the earthquake relief efforts in Japan. The buns and sardines in the tote bags were also collected voluntarily by us and donated to a charity home.
What came as a surprise was when the black official fan tee was unveiled by our FC President during the group photo taking. The long hours of waiting was worthwhile as all of us did something meaningful for charity. And needless to say, everyone was elated by just simply looking at our idol on the cover page of i-weekly #700 and reading about her story.

Who counts down to countdown? RBKD! (:
Spending 15 hours waiting for countdown is crazy! Hahaha.
The morning was spent fooling around/taking pictures! It was so hot that we even had to take turns to go to the sheltered area!!
Initially we were hanging around the VIP seats area, but since there was a bomb check in the afternoon, we “evacuated” to chomp chomp.
Not long after we settled down, it started to rain, phew~
But the rain also ended just in time for us to settle down back at the stage area! Mats were laid down, banners were tied, the big boards were displayed ! :)
RBKD was set for countdown!
So at around 6/7pm the performances started and we learnt the papaya dance! It was quite interesting, cause we did chicken dance during the “freestyle” part!!! Hahahahaha, everyone was enjoying and having fun la. Haha.
Then after all the assorted performances, Rui En came out at around 1130pm. I think most of us were already losing our voices! Cause we screamed/cheered/sing along for like all the previous performances!
*anywayyyy the long wait is finally over!!! (: *
She sang 白色羽毛 and followed by 空瓶. I could feel that everyone was really enjoying themselves! We were swaying our light sticks/boards and just having fun (:
Not long after, it was the time to countdown with everyone! The minute the clock strike twelve, everyone was super high! I think RBKD was even crazier cause we had our RBKD Train!!! We basically toured around the whole area waving our boards and screaming our lungs out (:
Even random passers-by joined our train! Hahahaha.
I don’t know how to describe it but its just damn crazy la! Hahaha.
To add on to the craziness, we even threw the Rui En boards high up!!
Well since its once in a year, sooooo why not ? :P
Then we also wished all the police men/residents/humans we saw along our way home “HAPPY NEW YEAR!!” (:
Anddddd to sum it all up, I think all of us enjoyed each other’s company & ushered the new year in the craziest way!
Happy 2011 once again everyone!!!!! (:

That day, there were 7 of us who started queuing at 8AM! LOL. What made it unbearable was the morning sun! It was so hot! Thus it was like a water&ice-cream day for us as we keep buying water and ice-cream. HAHA. Passengers on the bus were like staring at us because we waited at the ROADSIDE, sitting on a picnic mat. LOL.
*fast forward fast forward fast forward*
After the artistes left, it’s when RBKD went high! LOL. We formed our RBKD train, with Rui En’s board in our hand, and started walking around Serangoon Garden wishing ppl “Happy New Year”! Then ppl joined our train, even aunties and uncles! HAHA. We shouted “Serangoon, Happy New Year!” too. And when we did “RBKD, Rui En Happy New Year”, we threw our boards!! HAHAHA. Fun! Then we packed our stuffs and helped to pick up rubbish, like what Snail had said, as though we were doing CWO before leaving. ^^ While walking, we continued our “Happy New Year” to ppl who walked pass us, ppl at the opp bus-stop and even the policemen! HAHA.
Overall, its just another awesome day with RBKD! Seeing Rui En and the fun and craziness experienced with RBKD, the 15 hours of wait was worth it! ^^
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Zilei, Priority Member:
Rui En sang 空瓶 and 白色羽毛 and obviously you and I know both that she’s awesome. I’ve really really ran out of words to describe her and her performances. She just really pretty and cute all the time la. It’s really nice to see Elvin and her on the stage and chatting. (I support Ruivin.) Hehe.
I guess the more important part of the countdown was the RBKD spirit. To be honest, we only got to see Rui En on stage for perhaps 10 minutes. But we got to be with RBKD for the entire day (especially those who went at 8am) or night. We got to queue with RBKD, we got to eat with RBKD, we got to scream and shout with RBKD, we got to do so much things that we don’t get to do with Rui En. It is about spending so much more time with RBKD than watching Rui En’s performance yet feeling that it was definitely worth it.
Okay back to the countdown. I really love the RBKD Train despite me doing really embarrassing things like holding the RE board the wrong way (it faced behind). But it was fun how we didn’t care about what others would think of us, be it being crazy, or even people on CWO.
—
Xinyi, President:
It’s almost as though counting down together has become a tradition for RBKD, at least that’s what the humans in RBKD would say. Here’s something to share if you weren’t with us this time round.
The newest way to support our big boards!
These people are really good at self-entertaining.
Dear Minmin, how did you feel when you first see the board? :D
PS: Minmin is the manager of Rui En.
So shortly after the clock struck twelve, most of us dumped our bags on the picnic mat and started our RBKD train. We pulled in boys and girls, aunties and uncles, elves and angmohs to join in the fun. We went “touring” around Serangoon Gardens and shouting “Happy New Year” to everyone. By everyone, I really meant EVERYONE, including the police officers on duty! :P
I think I might have been able to recruit another 50 members for RBKD if I set up a registration counter there that day. Suddenly, everyone wanted to “join” RBKD. Aunties and uncles were waving our RBKD RE boards and I heard an angmoh even tried snatching Isabel’s board from her during our “tour”!
After our crazy tour, it was time for our usual “CWO” (Corrective Work Order). If you saw a group of people picking up 2 garbage bags full of litter with their barang barang on their back, don’t doubt, that’s us! Done clearing the mess, we realised we forgot to take a group photo but many Cinderellas had already “ran” home in their pumpkin carriages!
Better than nothing, we sat right in the middle of the road, with 2 policemen and countless residents looking on, taking our own sweet time to get that shot that could never be right with these crazy people around. Don’t believe? See the picture below =)
Happy New Year. Here’s to another great year together again.

Yanling, Overall In-charge:
I guess this is the first time we have so many people going to RE’s event together! With about 50 participants altogether from our side, (Y)!
As a big group, it was pretty hard to assemble and organize everyone. Therefore the coordinator of the day, Joyce, has really done a good job in helping out with that. *clap clap* Thanks a lot for that! (:
Somehow time always passes quickly every time she is on stage. Even though we were there for about 6hours before her performance, but that 30minutes of her feels faster than our waiting time. Being able to see her coincidentally at the walkway made me feel really “Awww~~â€
—
Joyce, Coordinator:
Reached cityhall to meet the rest and off we set off to youthphoria event in the shuttle bus! i didnt do a lot of interaction on bus cause i PURELY WANT TO STONE. LOL. i got a hard time opening my pathetic lollipop. thanks celest! she opened it for me! HAAH.
Long after the ride, we’ve reached. met 147 (yanling) and got the tickets from her and moved in for the games, goodies etc etc! Played the Shooting game! Learning to be HU XIAO MAN is not easy, the small pistol can already weigh like an penguin! It was so heavy! And I only shot like 3 targets out of “don’t-know-how-manyâ€. Went off to play and see other games and goodies. Went to catch show! OMG. Worst show ever, its like what Zilei had mention, pure action scene and no storyline. Decided to move out upon the second movie. HAHA. Went to had early dinner and carry on with other games and activities!
EVENT time- went out to entrance at around 5.55pm with 147 to meet the rest of the rbkd people, marked attendance and gave out entrance tickets, brought them in and seated them according to the planned seating arrangement. after all performances, the long awaited idol appeared! everyone shouted as usual. She sang 2 songs, QINGWA and BAISEYUMAO. okay la, everyone was snapping and video-ing but im just purely holding onto my board and sway and enjoy her performance. HAHA. so yes, im the 100% enjoying her performance person! HAHA.
After she sang BAISEYUBAO, i wanted to do something that leaves her an impact and impression of us in youthphoria event! SO i ask them to shout “RUI EN, WE LOVE YOU!” and of course the one and only replied back with “I LOVE YOU TOO” hee. so sweet right? ahya, tell you all here also no use! See videos bah! it was so successful! im so proud of rbkd! willing to work and cooperate together to achieve this! :D
AND AS USUAL, she’s stunning! no use writing too much too, look at pictures k? (:
enjoyed the event and day! although it was tiring but its worth it for the idol! right everyone? kekeke!

Phyllis, Deputy Project Director:
Maybe for the first time, the attendance rate of the new members for members events were higher than the senior members!
Since the members were relatively unfamiliar with people around them , it was kinda awkward at the beginning for everyone. So we started with our usual (3+1) introduction method to get things started !
But the climax was when we played ‘Double Whacko’ !!!! Even the quieter ones started to get enthusiastic and the atmosphere was definitely better :) You have seen their faces when they called out their own partner (double whacko rule: to be paired up w another person in the inner circle, a.k.a your partner) ! Hahahaha, certainly worth remembering :)
Then it was time for ‘Don’t forget the lyrics’! They were certainly all hyped up when they were trying to make up their group name…. we had names like hypy (Hanyu Pinyin) etc.Hahahaha. Many of them were dying to use their phone dictionaries to check out the chinese character they didn’t know how to write! :P But they still tried their best and it was really a commendable effort :)
Well 天 ä¸‹æ— ä¸æ•£ä¹‹å®´å¸, (all good things must come to an end) it was time to go and i am sure most of them had fun and got to know each other better! :)

Casslyn, Participant:
Seven.Zero.Eight was the first IPC I’ve joined despite being in the forum for almost one year, and it took a great deal of courage for me to meet up with the other members. It was certainly comforting to know that many of the members there were also as new as I was to the fan club; we were all there to make new friends :D
We introduced ourselves by choosing 3 of the questions given to us to answer. That helped me to learn a little bit more about the others, although I still couldn’t really remember their names well. I also had a whale of a time playing double whacko. Double whacko is indeed thrilling, with our hearts palpitating erratically whenever our names are called. A wave of guilt surged through me whenever I did not manage to call out another person’s name in time, but all of us know that nobody really minded or blamed anybody(:
“Don’t Forget Her Lyrics” is also unforgettable. I was in the ‘hanyupinyin’ group, and as our group name suggests, whenever the other teams get stuck at a chinese character, we will fill it up for them and earn the points instead. I must admit that my level of chinese doesn’t seem to be good enough for all those chim chinese words, hence all the credits are given to my awesome groupmates :D
We ended the day with taking photos and I believe that all of us had fun posing for them :D Looking forward to joining more IPCs in the future!

Celest, Participant:
I suggested having a fanclub gathering with all the members so as to allow new members like me to get to know the old and new members. I am glad that my suggestions has been taken into consideration and because of that, the SevenZeroEight was organised. It was a new experience for me joining a fanclub and reaching out of my comfort zone to meet people whom I don’t know in the first place but all like Rui En at the same time.
I enjoyed myself very much during the gathering, especially being involved in the “wacko” and “Don’t forget her lyrics” game. The “wacko” game was very effective in helping me to remember the names of the members and the “Don’t forget her lyrics” made me feel excited because I like to listen and sing Rui En’s songs. But I think it would be better if more older members have turned up for the event coz the majority are new members. I hope that this kind of gathering can be organized annually for members to mingle around and have fun.
—
Junqi, Participant:
It was kind of awkward at first because of the many unfamiliar faces around. However in the next hour or so, we slowly opened up to one another and started having real fun. Personally, I really like the ice breaker games. Not only did it lighten the atmosphere, but also fuelled interaction between the members.
All in all, it was a fun get together event, and I’m sure all of us had a great time. So kudos to the organizers! Looking forward to similar events in future (:
—
Xinyi, Participant:
Like what Phyllis said, this was our first club event with the new members outnumbering the senior ones. For so many of them, this was the first time they stepped out of their comfort zone (now these people are our regulars in IPC :P ).
This event was originally slated for 31st July, but it was such an auspicious date that it clashed with Unriddle’s event at Settlers. Yes, imagine the frenzy when we solved the first clue and realised that the events clashes! :O
Anyway, back to the event. It was really nice Shirley and I could take a back seat and act as mentors to our excellent organising team. Their “Double Whacko” proved to be so popular that it is now a must-have ice-breaker in RBKD. I’m glad I gave this event the green light :)
