The viewership figures for the first half of 2011 has been released!

With last night’s climatic rescue, ‘C.L.I.F.’ 《警徽天职》不负众望, and clinched the champion title ahead of Number 2 ‘A Tale of 2 Cities’ <乐在双城>! In fact, last night’s viewership was a whopping 1,041,000!

So this has made it official! Rui En has lost her throne to the new reigning Queen of Viewership Joanne Peh! Her lead roles in the Top 2 dramas have cemented her seat as a top performer!

Even acting powerhouses Lee Si Qi and Cynthia Koh couldn’t help Rui En against the onslaught of the men and women in blue…

The combination of the stellar cast of C.L.I.F. proved to be unstoppable. And all your Romeo lovers out there, you must be feeling validated because Sgt Koh did not die in vain!

But analysing the ratings more closely, is Rui En and Pierre Png the favourite IT couple? Their on-screen chemistry have developed since A Tale of 2 Cities, and came to fruition in the 35-episode In-Laws as Jiazhen and Jian Hai where many viewers cheered on their cursed romance!

Pierre Png 方展发 has also done incredibly well this year! Is he finally on his way to being a viewership magnet?

Rui En still has a chance to catch up with not 1, but 2 shows! There’s On The Fringe 《边缘父子》in August, and her 7pm kungfu serial 《正义武馆》debuting in December (from all accounts, she’s been working her butt off with the intense fighting scenes, so props to her.) , but Joanne Peh will not give up the fight so easily because she will be in the epic A Song to Remember 《星洲之夜》! These 2 dramas will be overlapping so we shall wait to see which Queen will win the final battle!

On The Fringe 边缘父子 debuts 2 August 2011 9pm on Channel 8.

Code of Honour 正义武馆 debuts 5 December 2011 7pm on Channel 8.

Unriddle 2 最火搭档 2 debuts 6 March 2012 9pm on Channel 8.

让瑞恩、白薇秀2公主爬头，欧萱1整年消失本地荧幕，不担心被观众遗忘！

欧萱自今年头《破天网》落幕后，就没有再在荧幕亮相。据知，欧萱不少粉丝就频频为公主喊屈，希望她能够尽快有作品“面世”，免被遗忘人气落单。

反之，一向被拿来比较的白薇秀，从长剧《想握你的手》中“解困”后，今年即曝光频频，除了之前和瑞恩合演的《乐在双城》，反响收视都不俗外，紧接着还有目前播映的《警徽天职》，接下来她也将会在年底重头剧《星洲之夜》中挑大梁，受重视指数很高。

另一公主瑞恩今年上半年已播映的有《乐》、《麻婆斗妇》，刚拍完《边缘父子》的她目前已赴马国拍《正义武馆》，年底还会接拍《最火搭档2》，成为收视、人气视后，也是3人当中最炙手可热的。

瑞恩去年底买下iPad，用来等戏时消磨时间。 但她自称很low tech， 不怎么玩游戏，仅利用iPad看杂志Vanity Fair和上网阅读新闻。打开她的iPad一看，发现：里头只有10余张照片，而且几乎都是偶像Marion Cotillard的玉照，她说：“她演技太好了! 如果能和她最小的脚趾指甲一样好，我就可以死得很开心了。放她的照片，正是为了时时刻刻提醒自己朝这个目标努力。”

她特别爱写Notes，在《边缘父子》饰演盲女的她洋洋洒洒好几百字刻画角色内心世界，最近还忙阅读关于海伦凯勒(Helen Keller)的小故事，丰富自己对视障人士的了解……是用功的咯!

Newly-crowned TV queen Rui En escapes the Star Awards curse with not only a continuous stream of roles, but also high viewership ratings for the current hit The In-Laws.

In the past, many Star Award TV queens seem to have their careers cursed soon after winning, with their popularity dwindling. For instance, 1997’s Carole Lin (The Price Of Peace), 1999’s Cynthia Koh (Stepping Out) and 2007’s Yvonne Lim (Metamorphosis), were all actresses who won the Star Awards’ Best Actress Award and subsequently suffered career setbacks due to declining viewership.

Even Joanne Peh, who was often referred to as a princess by the media, could not escape this fate. After her victory in 2009 with the drama Little Nyonya, she became stuck in the 180-episode Your Hand In Mine, which performed worse than expected.

But Rui En, who had already been crowned as a viewership queen earlier this year, has seemingly escaped the curse. After winning the Best Actress Award at the Star Awards 2 weeks ago, she’s getting strong reviews for her lead role in The In-Laws, a 9pm drama. After playing a simple-minded lady in A Tale Of Two Cities, her new role as a delicate wife in The In-Laws has once again received much praise.

The In-Laws, which is halfway into its run (21st episode shown on Tuesday), has attracted an average of 843,000 viewers. This figure is closing in on that of the defending champion A Tale Of Two Cities, which starred Rui En and Joanne Peh. The 21-episode drama drew a record average of 904,000 viewers.

Rui En is currently filming On the Fringe and already has another 2 TV dramas in the pipeline, Code of Honour and Unriddle II, ensuring she has high exposure in the coming months.

新科视后瑞恩“瑞”不可当，躲过“红星魔咒”，不只连连接戏，目前热播的《麻婆斗妇》收视也报捷！

历来红星大奖的视后登上殿堂位置后，似乎都难逃“红星魔咒”，即得奖后星运、人气却“殿后”。如，1997年的林晓佩（《和平的代价》）、1999年的许美珍（《出路》）、2007年的林湘萍（《破茧而出》），皆在夺得红星大奖最佳女主角之后，星运不但未能获视后光环的加持扶摇直上，事业反而遇瓶颈。

这个厄运，就连贵为公主的白薇秀也没幸免，她在2009年以《小娘惹》封视后之后，“受困”180集的《想握你的手》，不料剧集反应未比预期理想。

早在年头就奠定收视女王地位的瑞恩，虽然两个星期前又加上“红星视后”头衔，但却似逃过魔咒。她所主演的9点档《麻婆斗妇》收视保持她的优良纪录。瑞恩继《乐》的傻大姐角色后，在《麻》饰演娇柔弱女也再度交出满意表现，获得赞赏。

已播出超过一半的《麻》（截至前晚播出21集），平均吸引84万3000名观众收看。这个成绩已逼近目前卫冕全年最高收视率、由瑞恩与白薇秀主演的《乐在双城》，共21集的《乐》平均吸引90万4000名观众。

此外，瑞恩目前在拍摄《边缘父子》，并已确定接下《正义武馆》及《最火搭档2》两部电视剧，保持居高不下的曝光率与生产力，势如破竹，不红都难。
