The response to the weight I’d put on for a role has been both humbling and infuriating. I’ve had multiple parties ask me to lose weight.

I may be a public commodity but is this the world we live in? In a world where innocent lives have been gunned down, women are judged by how they look, how old they are and how they weigh? Still?

Let me be clear. You are beautiful no matter how much you weigh, how you look and how old you are.

I am not a thing, an ornament or a toy. I am a human being. I am not an object.

However you look, weigh, or how old you are. YOU are a human being.

And to the people who think otherwise?

Live with it.

RBKD: As part of our Annual Giving tradition in line with our 7th anniversary celebrations, Rui En joined RBKD in an outing to the inclusive playground at Canberra Park for children with special needs last Saturday. We hope to help generate awareness of such facilities in Singapore. Do spread the word.

I was there before daybreak and an elderly came up to me after spotting me with video cameras, sharing that “this place is nicer at 9pm “.

Aunties & uncles (aka strangers) approached us to chit-chat when they learned that we were Rui En’s fans. (It was super shiok when they praised Rui En )

NParks’ staff treated us like guests & assisted us on several occasions. And they came up to me twice to express their thanks when we helped them in crowd control.

But it was the rain that made everything sweeter.

Boards before self. That’s RBKD for you.

And even when the rain was pouring, we were looking out for each other. Sheltering each other while someone puts on a poncho or when someone was hiding under jacket etc.

To the selected fans who attended the event with us today, I hope you had a teaser experience of what being a RBKD member is like.

Despite my evacuation calls, members kept coming back whenever the rain “lied” about subsiding, just because some of us were still there guarding.

When the rain washed away our bags, and when our tripod toppled, strangers picked them up on our behalf.

And I saw my members offering our extra ponchos to the crowd-goers around us, and picking up rubbish that weren’t from us. The crowd looked on. Some helped, some smiled. That was good enough.

And then there’s Rui En. She was so worried about our safety after seeing this pic I took.

This was her “另类对你好” to us, which I have been informed that she had specially chosen it for us for the past two events.

It would have been great if you got to sing your third song if not for the heavy downpour, but it was just as amazing that despite the distance, we still connected.

Thank you for thanking RBKD, “RBKD” just sound especially sweet when you are the one saying it.

And thanks for waving goodbye to us all the way until we were out of your sight.

What an exciting week!

All Rangels rejoice! It’s your chance to meet Rui En before she flies to Melbourne for “The Dream Makers 2”!

Rui En’s having two public appearances in August and they are both song performances! Hope to see you there!

It’s always lovely to have news of Rui En, be they pretty pics from a drama production’s wedding shoot or videos of Rui En working hard to master the dance steps, we fans love them all!

First up, videos of Rui En’s dance rehearsals! 2 of these videos actually attracted more than 90K combined views on Channel 8’s Facebook page. But there’s more than these, so here are some of our favourites.

Don’t you just love it when you unlock your phone/ turn on your computer and you are flooded by such lovely pics of Rui En? Love’s in the air in “The Dream Makers 2” and here’s Tonglin, the bride. Check out more pics in Toggle’s article below.

In an interview with Toggle, Qi Yuwu shared that although his character, Jason, is fully aware of Fei’er’s feelings for him, Jason is “in no way confused or in a dilemma, because he knows that the one that he loves is Tong Lin”. Tonglin on the other hand, is oblivious to her good friend’s feelings to her fiancé, until complications occurred on the wedding day. Check out the interview in the link below:

Yesterday, a Rangel came to our set. She handed me a tub of biscuits and a letter.

Then she told me she got into Yale. She said she wrote her entrance essay about me. In the envelop was a letter, her entrance essay, and the letter informing her she made it into Yale.

I felt as though I was the one who made it into Yale, elated.

Thank you for the incredible inspiration and encouragement.

I will continue to try to be a better person.
