Fierce Fight Between The Yang Sisters!
It’s a fierce fight between currently No. 1 Yang Xiao Dong and No. 2 Yang Nian Qing for Favourite Female Character! Gee, just realised that they have the same surnames as well!
Will there be a tie? What’s going to happen if there’s a tie? The hosts will probably announce: “Let’s invite the Yang sisters onstage!†:p
The Unbeatable Favourite On-Screen Couple!
It’s Zou Jie Ming leading again with Tang Ying in Favourite On-Screen Couple with Situ Dong Cheng and Yang Nian Qing trailing behind in the 2nd position in this latest round of updates! We saw Situ Dong Cheng and Yang Nian Qing leading in Week 1 but they have since been overtaken by Zou Jie Ming and Tang Ying.

We will be providing the final round of updates in another couple of days as we are now in the final lap leading to Star Awards Show 1 this Sunday. Will there be a dramatic twist to the final results? Will your idol(s) make it onstage? It’s all in your hands and fingers (and toes)!!!

It will be an extremely tough fight between the duo who are ranked ahead of their peers in the Online Awards powered by xinmsn for Favourite Female Character
Fervent supporters who have been anxiously rooting for their idols by voting daily can now breathe a little easier. For the past two weeks, fans were given a little glimpse into the plausible outcome of the Star Awards 2011 Online Awards.
To up the ante and excitement this time round, we are giving you an additional peek at how these artistes are faring at the charts. So, stay up to speed on the leading two nominees at the online polls and let your fingers do the rest of the work!
Going strong with a three-week leading streak, Rui En (Happy Family) and Elvin Ng (Breakout) continue to dominate the top spots for Favourite Female and Male Character respectively. Their competitors have — so far — proved to be of no competition against these two artistes’ wide-reaching fan bases.

Coming in close behind Rui En and Elvin Ng would be Jeanette Aw (Breakout) and Qi Yu Wu (The Family Court) for Favourite Female and Male Character respectively.
Similarly, taking top spot for Favourite On-Screen Couple (Drama) is the innocent and tender love shared between the Elvin-Zhou Ying coupling from Breakout with the fried rice couple, Christopher Lee and Jeanette Aw coming in close behind.

Moving on to one of the night’s most highly-anticipated categories – the Top 21 Most Popular Artistes, we see little or zero changes made to the male and female nomination list.
Shanghainese lass Zhou Ying fails to maintain her position in the currently-leading top 10 spots with Michelle Chia gaining traction and making it into the list. The current Top 10 Male Artiste in the lead remains the same.
Current Top 10 Female Artistes are Ann Kok, Jeanette Aw, Joanne Peh, Lim Pei Fen, Michelle Chia, Quan Yi Fong, Rui En, Tiffany Leong, Vivian Lai and Yvonne Lim.

Under Qiuhua’s devious machinations, misunderstandings began to brew. Baozhu became more guarded towards Jiazhen and she started to suspect the latter’s motives in marrying Jianhai. Baozhu was furious that her son had been made use of, and coupled with the trouble Jiazhen’s brother and sister-in-law had created, the relationship between the mother-and-daughter-in-law finally broke down. The aggrieved Jiazhen left home.

Apart from having to deal with a completely different character change, the local actress is also worried that TV audiences might be sick of a Rui En-Pierre Png onscreen pairing again

No doubt an acting chameleon, Rui En has proven her fine acting chops over the past two years and is unafraid of moving on to uncharted territories, just like her newest challenge where she plays a blind girl in On The Fringe.
She’s been making waves on television for successfully stepping out of her tough-cookie shadow and taking up different roles which ranged from woebegone (With You), and girlie (A Tale of Two Cities) to meek and docile in the upcoming Ch8 drama, The In-Laws.
While she still picks the crime-fighting Xiao Man from Unriddle as her personal favourite, she admits that her grieving widow role in With You helped “change the audience’s perception of me” and provided her with the much-needed breakthrough.
Scoring a Best Actress nomination at this year’s Star Awards for With You, Rui En is also currently leading in online polls for Favourite Female Character for her role in Happy Family. Speaking of her two nominations, she has “no expectations” and even has a few “ongoing bets” with friends that she wouldn’t clinch the coveted award.

At the press conference of The In-Laws held at Klapsons Boutique Hotel yesterday noon, she dubbed her onscreen character, Wang Jia Zhen as her “first damsel in distress role”.
Soft-spoken, demure and passive are certainly not words one would use to describe this plucky actress who sports a distinctive tomboyish streak. As always, she would feel “pressured” by new roles though she felt that this has been absolutely refreshing for her.
“When characters are different from a person’s personality, you have to be careful to not slip back into your own self because who you are is how you act,” she admitted in an interview with xinmsn.

As if she was still in character, Rui En spoke in a soft voice and said, “I would use her eyes and try to make sure her eyes are very soft… I would also use my voice because my voice is naturally very deep, so I thought of making the voice for this character a little bit softer.”
While the main challenge posed by the new drama was the constant need to “focus 100%”, admittedly, Rui En is worried about being paired with Pierre Png in two consecutive drama series.

Although she’s “very worried that people are sick of seeing us together”, Rui En believes that their different characters in the recently-concluded A Tale of Two Cities and the new show have a “different feel”, and hopes to give viewers a refreshing take on their onscreen relationship this time round.
Apart from this being her first submissive role, this is also her first time “doing a show where my husband is more afraid of his mother than me”.
“My nickname for this family [in The In-Laws] is The Addams family. They are terrible and so crazy! (Laughs).”
And what if she ever encounters such demanding, meddlesome and devious in-laws?
“I would run away to India. Seriously, I would just run,” she jokingly remarked, bursting into fits of laughter at the thought of it.
It’s Rui En vs. ‘The Addams Family’.
Which is Rui En’s favourite character so far?
The In-Laws debuts on April 12 and will be aired on weekdays, Ch8, 9pm.

Alright, strike a pose for me, Rui En…Yah, this ’Sucker Punch’ babe (I am so into that movie) deliberately spoke in a lighter tone to soften her ‘delivery’ for the sake of playing that gentle daughter-in-law…It was so not Rui-En that the cast and crew clapped and cheered for her when it was her turn to speak…(not bad huh..)
Suddenly, she gave me this ‘Xiao Man’ look…an attitude she is probably more at ease and a role she is so dying to reprise again…yes, watch out for a darker and tortured ‘Sucker Punch’ soul in ‘Unriddle 2′ to debut in March 2012…
Hong Kong’s æŽå¸æ£‹ Li Si Qi is always the same old calm and elegant lady (I last worked with her when she came to promote ‘真情 The Kindred Spirit’ years ago)…she still enjoys shopping alot in Singapore and she was seen jumping into a cab and heading straight for Takashimaya with Jing Po Po to 血拼 again right after the press con…
Look at that young babe next to Si Qi Jie…it’s the new Cynthia Koh who lost so much weight doing this drama as the super-evil daughter-in-law…I actually find her alot softer and younger in this slimmer version… Cynthia is planning to take a looooong break from her months of continuous shooting (I don’t think so lah…you are so much on the ‘wanted’ list of all Executive Producers)…
The glamorous Belinda Lee was beaming with the ‘glow of love’ on her face…(so not the è€å§‘婆 in the drama) and yes, she told me many stars are super 抓狂 now in trying to nail that perfect and stunning outfit for Star Awards this month… (Ok, I know nobody wants to loose to Joanne Peh this year you know…who is undergoing 地狱å¼çš„身体æžé™è®ç»ƒ to present that é”鬼身æ for Star Awards night…haha…)
Just when we thought Rui En had enough of all the bullying from Cynthia in the drama to make her look like a piece of shit, she 出丑 again in front of her ‘mother-in-law’ when she found something stuck in her hair for the group photo shot…(who did it?):
To view the 4 videos of the press con which took place at Klapsons Boutique Hotel yesterday…almost every member of the cast was there except Pierre Png (maybe he wasn’t in the mood for the same old ‘Hello Kitty’ smiles and poses at press con again…haha), just click the link below (and subscribe):

3.. 2.. 1.. KACHAAA!
Here’s a sneeeeak peak from behind the camera of Darren Lim 林明倫, Cynthia Koh 许美ç, Mother-In-Law æŽå¸çª, Rui En ç‘žæ© and Pierre Png æ–¹å±•å‘ in the promo shoot for upcoming Channel 8 drama ‘The In-Laws 麻婆斗妇’
OK, I know I know.. Darren and Cynthia has appeared on screens as husband and wife for (I think) more than 5 times (and I’m being stingy here). But you’ve gotta give it to them for their wonderful chemistry on screen! I mean it doesn’t take much to remember all the times that I rolled over laughing at their hilarious spousal antics! That’s why, with no doubt at all, they share a real on-screen affinity!
OK, I know what you are gonna say next, Pierre and Rui En as a couple again. But hey, hold your curses! If you have watched ‘The Tale of 2 Cities ä¹åœ¨åŒåŸŽâ€™, Rui En and Pierre had proven themselves to be a great crowd-pleaser! I mean, come on, when you put one of the reigning seven princesses and one makes-your-hormones-go-crazy heartthrob in the same show, it’s definitely gonna be a great hit! If there’s gonna be a ‘Hottest Celebrity Duo Award’ in this year’s Star Awards, it’d definitely goes to them! Speaking of Star Awards, remember to check out your hot faves in the Top 10! Will they top the charts or be topped?
Anyway, here’s a glimpse of what happened during the promo shoot(:

An actress, host, radio deejay, beauty queen all rolled into one, Chris’s work schedule is always packed to the brim with little room for a breather.
Following the wrap-up of upcoming action-packed Ch8 production, C.L.I.F, the 26-year-old suffered a case of the heebie-jeebies when she landed another role in a soon-to-be-filmed action-centric production with Rui En and Elvin Ng.
