新传媒在Facebook上推出的《红星大奖2013》网络投选应用软件，受到粉丝热烈关注与回响。网友可以在剧集播出期间，一直到大结局后的一个星期投票。

在’最喜爱男女角色’å’Œ’最喜爱荧幕情侣’3个项目中，全年获得最多票数的5名艺人，将角逐明年的《红星大奖》。

瑞恩人气不退

至于竞争最激烈的’最喜爱女角色’项目，本地人气女王瑞恩的冠军宝座曾一度被陈靓瑄夺去，之后《微笑正义》播出时，林慧玲来势汹汹，也暂时将瑞恩压下。

不过，瑞恩的粉丝力量果然不是盖的，最后凭着20万2854票，让《微笑正义》的刘言之夺冠。

瑞恩的粉丝暂时能喘口气，目前的票数让人放心，但明年《红星大奖2013》终极投选时，必是再一轮厮杀。

Celebrity interview is an art. Like negotiation, there needs to be a certain degree of compromise and sensitivity while sticking a microphone under the person’s nose.

But from time to time, journalists jump at the chance to bombard celebrities with hard-hitting or awkward questions – (well, you can’t blame them for trying!) – they would rather save for tête-à-tête sessions with close pals.

While many keep their cool with nonchalance and respond with measured poise, some get tongue-tied and scram for the fastest exit when cornered with a touchy topic.

I guess open-ended questions tend to leave me a little bit unnerved. As a person, I don’t really like open-ended questions or the ‘what if’ questions. What’s the point [of asking them]? You can imagine what it’s like but when the situation is in front of you, it could be a world away.

The official fanclub of Rui En decided to donate S$1,120 to charity instead of putting the money on their idol who’s running for top honours in the online Star Awards 2013 polls

After months of fierce competition and relentless voting for the upcoming Star Awards 2013, Felicia Chin’s character (Du Siman from Don’t Stop Believin’) overtook Rui En (Hu Xiaoman from Unriddle 2) to clinch the top spot; both actress are running for nomination for next year’s Favourite Female Character award.

The official fanclub of Rui En, RBKD, could have dug deep into their pockets to push their idol back to her numero uno position in the Star Awards 2013 online polls. But instead of succumbing to “the system” and pumping money into what they term a “bottomless pit”, RBKD president Peh Xinyi shared with xinmsn that the fanclub have decided to donate S$1,120 to the Community Chest over the weekend. The lump sum of $1,000 could have bought them 10,000 votes, according to Xinyi.

Each voter can cast up to 10 free votes for each drama series at the online polls. Should a fan wish to bump their idol or favourite character further up the ranks, votes can be purchased from the Facebook app at an additional value of approximately S$10 (equivalent to 100 votes).

Over a phone interview with xinmsn, Xinyi shared her stance on the online polls and said, “At least the Top 10 phone polls take place once a year and that is fine. However, this time round the online polls take place continuously.

Viewers are allowed to vote their favourite drama characters into the polls during the drama’s telecast period and voting will end a week after the last episode is aired. The top 5 characters with the highest number of votes will be shortlisted for a final round of voting in the Star Awards 2013.

“The intention of the system is good as it empowers the viewers however some form of moderation needs to be enforced,” quipped Xinyi, who suggested that it might be feasible to introduce a cap on the votes in future, and added, “We’re not trying to go against it [the system] but we just feel that we have to take a stand and express our disappointment with it.”

It is understood that the fanclub has given their feedback. When xinmsn contacted Paul Chan, VP for Channel Branding & Promotions, he expressed that they have done a check on the statistics. “The total amount of free and earned votes cast so far is double that of purchased votes and you’ll really need a lot of fan support to be in the top 5.”

When xinmsn last spoke to Rui En at the imaging session for C.L.I.F. 2, the actress commented on the online voting saga between Felicity and RBKD.

The apologetic actress expressed, “I hope next year’s voting period will not be as long to better allow fans to concentrate on their studies. It will be better if it [voting period] was shortened.”

According to Channel 8’s most recent update, The top three actresses in the lead now are Rebecca Lim (Feng Luo Ling in Poetic Justice) with 44,098 votes, Felicia Chin (Du Si Man from Don’t Stop Believin’) with 40,441 votes and Rui En (Liu Yan Zhi from Poetic Justice) with 34,699 votes.

In the sequel to Ch8’s popular drama, C.L.I.F. 2 features a star-studded cast with Li Nanxing, Rui En and Joanne Peh leading the pack.

Playing Wei Lantian, the Head of Forensic Management Division in C.L.I.F. 2, Li Nanxing will be romantically-linked with Rui En in the drama. The actor let on that he is ‘looking forward to filming with Rui En.’

A contrast to Rui En’s character in Unriddle 2, the actress shared that her character in C.L.I.F. 2 will be more feminine and less aloof. Portraying Huang Zhijie who entered the police force after witnessing her sister’s abduction and death at a young age, Rui En let on that she is ‘very happy to be given a chance to try this new role.’

C.L.I.F 2 警徽天职 2 debuts 18 February 2013 9pm on Channel 8.

After appearing as the cold and aloof female cop in Unriddle 2, Rui En takes on another police investigator role in the upcoming C.L.I.F. 2. This will be a sequel to the popular 2011 cop drama C.L.I.F., which garnered an average viewership of 924,000 people and bagged the show of the year award.

Rui En is joined by a star-studded lineup for the second series which includes the likes of Li Nanxing, Thomas Ong, Pierre Png and Eelyn Kok. They will be joined by Joanne Peh, Qi Yuwu and Aileen Tan from the original cast.

On her new role, Rui En shared that she was happy and shocked at the same as she did not dare to harbour any thoughts of scoring another cop role again, having acted as one previously.

She also expressed in the interview with xinmsn that she was interested in the crime industry and did some research before filming for Unriddle 2.

“Really excited” to be in this show, Rui En shared that she will be acting as Huang Zhijie, a character who entered the police force after witnessing her sister’s abduction and death at a young age. She also revealed that her character will be “less aloof” and “more feminine” than her previous role in Unriddle 2.

Rui En admitted that everyone role has its “own challenge” when asked on her thoughts on taking on yet another police character. “I have to challenge myself to adapt into the new role because everyone is more familiarised with the cold Hu Xiaoman [her role in Unriddle 2]. I’m very happy to be given the chance to try.”

She also spoke of her previous working experience with MediaCorp’s Ah Ge, Li Nanxing, in On The Fringe, and shared that their characters will be romantically-linked in this drama.

Currently on a month-long break after filming for Poetic Justice wrapped, the 31-year-old is on her first long break in three years. The actress shared that she intends to rest at home during this period of time and has no vacation plans at the moment.

Commenting on the recent online voting frenzy which saw Felicia Chin’s character in Don’t Stop Believin’ overtaking her Unriddle 2 character’s top spot in the Faovurite Actress category, Rui En said, “I hope next year’s voting period will not be as long to better allow fans to concentrate on their studies. It will be better if it was shorter.”
