Forbes magazine featured 11 of the best-paid Western celebrities under 25 in its online edition this month. CHANG MAY CHOON and SHEELA NARAYANAN find local and regional celebs with strong earning power
THEY may not be playing in big money leagues yet but some of the local under-25s are already rolling in some serious dough.
Singapore Idol Taufik Batisah, 24, singer Rui En, 24, and Singapore Idol runner-up Sylvester Sim, 23
The three are represented by Hype Records, which declined to reveal how much they earn.
Rui-En has six endorsements, among them Activa facial products, Tian Poh jewellery and Motorola handphones.
Industry sources reckon that each endorsement could be worth $20,000 and above.
These figures do not include a cut of the fees, which can be between 20 and 40 per cent, that go to the artiste management companies.

INCREDIBLE SHRINKING WOMAN AWARDS
OLINDA CHO
IT is official.The biggest shrinker of the year is the ever steady pom-pee-pee girl, Olinda Cho.
The 25-year-old singer won The New Paper’s Flame Awards for being the Incredible Shrinking Woman.
Compared to the other shrinkers in the category, our readers thought Olinda had the most dramatic weight loss.
Olinda garnered 312 votes for downsizing from 72kg to 57kg.
Quan Yifeng was a distant second at 143 with Irene Ang coming up in third spot with 122 votes.
Few people thought singer Rui En losing her puppy fat was dramatic.
She only had 56 votes.

Tomorrow is your last chance to vote for your favourite (or least favourite) Flame Awards nominees. In case you missed any of the categories that we have unveiled over the past week, HO LIAN-YI gives you a recap:
INCREDIBLE SHRINKING WOMAN AWARD
1. Olinda Cho
She went from 72kg to 57kg. She used to be known for her powerful vocals; nowadays she’s more famous for her missing flab.
2. Rui En
She went from 54kg to 47kg and baby fat has given way to spindly arms.
3. Irene Ang
The 1.7m-tall actress lost 12kg in the last six months, and has been flaunting her new figure in slinky dresses.
4. Quan Yifeng
At her lightest, she was a mere 39kg. Now 42kg, Yifeng is still a mere shadow of her former chubby self.
