RBKD: Rui En plays an optimistic kidney failure patient, Shen Chuyi in Life is Beautiful, whose greatest wish is to help other patients recover. When asked about her own resolution in 2015, she simply replied to be a better person and is willing to try anything that she has never done before.

Being an artiste who debut as a singer, Rui En hopes to release a new album but no concrete plans as yet. If given the chance to concept her own album, it would most probably be acoustic and she would love to do a cover on Teresa Teng and Leslie Cheung’s songs.

RBKD: Xinmsn listed 8 groups of actors who picked up a new skill in preparation for their roles. This ranges from crash course on scuba diving to 3-year training of martial arts. In this case, Rui En has picked up Hokkien opera singing for her role in “The Journey: Our Homeland”.

“Sometimes 50 of us (from my extended family) go karaoke, it’s very fun. I also like to go Chinatown with my family during CNY and just bask in the atmosphere. As for the questions about my love life, I do “tai chi”, saying, ‘Oh I cannot decide between Rui En and Jeanette Aw.’”
