After acting for two decades, MediaCorp actress Ann Kok is finally making her big screen debut in upcoming local flick Filial Party.
In 2004, she returned to Singapore to join the now-defunct broadcaster SPH MediaWorks, before going back to MediaCorp a year later after SPH MediaWorks closed.
“Five years of being away is a long time for an actress. I felt I had to start all over again and do everything from scratch.”
By then, younger actresses such as Joanne Peh, 30, and Rui En, 32, had also overtaken her in popularity – something she says she was perfectly fine with.

è¦å¾½å¤©èŒ 3 C.L.I.F. 3 returns to the small screen come April 2014, and viewers will get to find out more about the different departments of the Singapore Police Force and some real cases they have cracked. We let you in on what the star-studded cast said at the lensing ceremony!

《è¦å¾½å¤©èŒ 3 C.L.I.F. 3》 may be the third instalment of the highly watched police procedural drama series, but the Singapore Police Force (SPF)-MediaCorp collaboration will be anything but dull.
Like its previous runs, viewers can look forward to an exciting plot, which will dramatise actual crime files for the small screen.
《è¦å¾½å¤©èŒ 2 C.L.I.F. 2》 had left viewers with Assistant Superintendent (ASP) Wei Lantian and Senior Station Inspector (SSI) Huang Zhijie (played by lead stars Li Nanxing and Rui En respectively) in newly-wed bliss.
The camaraderie between artistes Li Nanxing and Rui En was clear as they bickered back and forth at the lensing ceremony of 《è¦å¾½å¤©èŒ 3 C.L.I.F. 3》, as if in their on-screen personas.
Rui En said: “C.L.I.F. 2 was more focused on showcasing the different crime cases, and how we were able to solve it.â€
“C.L.I.F. 3 delves deeper into the different aspects of relationships between the characters, and it’s very realistic, and that’s what I like about it,†said the 32–year-old popular actress.
Her co-star Li Nanxing drew many laughs when he interrupted Rui En mischievously, saying, “that’s because you are married to me, and we will have a happy and cosy home (in the show)!â€
But their bliss as newlyweds will not remain for long.
Actor Pierre Png, whose character psychiatrist Chen Yanjun saw his demise in the C.L.I.F. 2 finale episode, will shake things up.
“I will be back in C.L.I.F. 3 to seek vengeance against those who have wronged me… wait and see,†warned the dashing actor mysteriously.
Director of Public Affairs Department Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Ng Guat Ting was just as excited about working with MediaCorp for the third time.
AC Ng noted that for the first time, the drama will reveal more about the work by the Police Intelligence Department to show how they crack complicated crimes, and also show how the Traffic Police department endeavours to make the roads safer for all users.
“We are confident that the new season of C.L.I.F.3 can further deepen the audience’s understanding of Police work and inspire young men and women to join us in the fight against crime and to uphold law and order in Singapore,†said AC Ng.
“We look forward to possibly have C.L.I.F. 3, 4 and 5,†she said, while the crowd behind her responded with loud cheers and anticipation.
The highly anticipated third sequel extends its air-time to 25 episodes—five episodes more than its predecessors.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) and MediaCorp once again are coming together to produce the third season of the highly watched drama 《è¦å¾½å¤©èŒ C.L.I.F.》. Filming for《è¦å¾½å¤©èŒ 3 C.L.I.F. 3》will kick off in November 2013 and the drama is expected to air from 10 April 2014 to 14 May 2014, at 9pm on MediaCorp Channel 8. Viewers can expect 《è¦å¾½å¤©èŒ 3 C.L.I.F. 3》 to bring to the audiences areas of police works that have been in the limelight, for example, the traffic cops. Also will be highlighted are the police intelligence officers who are usually the heroes behind the scene; cracking major and highly syndicated and sophisticated crimes.
For starters, fans of this police procedural drama will be happy to know that 《è¦å¾½å¤©èŒ 3 C.L.I.F. 3》will span over 25 episodes, an additional 5 more episodes from the previous seasons. More twists and turns are expected as more true crime files are dramatized for the small screen.
While the past two seasons focused on the work of investigators and frontline police officers, 《è¦å¾½å¤©èŒ 3 C.L.I.F. 3》willgive viewers a glimpse into the work of officers from other departments: namely the Police Intelligence Department (PID) and the Traffic Police (TP). Viewers can expect to see the close collaboration between officers from the PID, TP, CID and the land divisions, as they race against time to trace valuable leads to solve high profile cases. With TP in the picture, viewers can expect to see exciting chase scenes, and at the same time appreciate how PID officers’ “brain work†is an important complement to the “leg work†of frontline ground officers. All of them upholding the core values of the Singapore Police Force: Courage. Loyalty. Integrity. Fairness. (C.L.I.F.).
Key cast of 《è¦å¾½å¤©èŒ 3 C.L.I.F. 3》 have undergone training on ‘live’ firing handguns such as the 0.38 revolver and shadowing an actual TP anti-drink drive operation. This training programme will give the artistes a feel of what it is like to be a Police Officer so as to allow them to portray one more realistically.
Director of Public Affairs Department, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ng Guat Ting (Ms) [公共事务局局长 – 黄月ç 助ç†è¦å¯Ÿæ€»ç›‘] said: “We are very happy with the many supporters that C.L.I.F. have garnered since the first season. Together with our partner MediaCorp, 《è¦å¾½å¤©èŒ 3 C.L.I.F. 3》 will bring to the small screen the work of Traffic Police officers, who are often in the limelight, as well as officers from the Police Intelligence Department, who are usually working quietly behind the scene to crack highly sophisticated crimes. We are confident that the new season of《è¦å¾½å¤©èŒ 3 C.L.I.F. 3》can further deepen the public’s understanding of Police work and inspire young men and women, to join us in the fight against crime and to uphold law and order in Singapore.â€
