Zhang Zhen Huan geared up to be lovey-dovey with Rui En

RBKD: Zhang Zhenhuan mentioned at a commercial appearance that he will be starting filming for “Trust me, Trust me Not”, a new Channel 8 drama, with Rui En from February 6. He revealed that the remaining cast to be Chen Shucheng, Marcus Chin, Jeffrey Xu, Jayley Woo and Aileen Tan. This drama will debut on July 3.

He mentioned that both Rui En and his roles will have very distinct personalities, with some misunderstandings in the beginning but ending up together eventually. He added that it would be the first time they are acting as a sweet couple, vastly different from all the bickering they had in The Journey 3: Our Homeland.”

Preceding the show would be a three-episode weekly countdown special. Online voting categories such as “Favourite Female Character”, “Favourite On-Screen Couple” etc. awards have been withdrawn.

Top Rated Variety / Drama will be excluded this year due to change in the measurement of TV viewership.

Local broadcaster Mediacorp’s deputy chief executive officer Chang Long Jong will be quitting the company after three decades to join Singapore-headquartered entertainment company mm2 Asia as its new group chief executive officer.

Mm2 Asia announced this on Tuesday (Jan 10) and Mr Chang will be taking up his new job from April 3.

He is currently the deputy chief executive officer and chief customer officer at Mediacorp, where he oversees its major media assets including television, radio, newspaper, magazines and streaming service Toggle. He also leads the company’s events business, Vizpro, and training business, Singapore Media Academy.

Mr Chang, 56, had joined the broadcaster, then called Singapore Broadcasting Corporation, in 1985.

RBKD: Mr Chang Long Jong, Mediacorp’s deputy CEO and chief customer officer, has resigned and is currently serving his three-month notice period.

Mediacorp’s CEO Shaun Seow had announced in a memo to staff today. Mr Seow announced the position of deputy CEO will not be filled. He also shared that Mr Chang’s post of chief customer officer will be taken by Ms Debra Soon who is also head of the Family (English) and Premier Segments.

Mr Chang has been with Mediacorp for more than 30 years, joining the then the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) in 1985.

If Only I Could

RBKD: “If Only I Could” was complimented for being a welcome change from the usual family dramas, exploring “deeper themes of fate and destiny – something we’d never expect to encounter in a local TV series”.

Toggle listed the following as the drama’s best aspects: theme song, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law’s squabbles, Andie’s chemistry with Rui En.

Rui En’s acting as an aunty was also singled out and named as a defining role in her acting resume.
