I refer to the recent media reports regarding my involvement in the incident that took place on 12 Apr 2016.

There are various interpretations as to the conversation that took place between the motorcycle owner and myself. To address the context of that conversation, I would like to share what I can without causing any
interference to the ongoing investigation.

Tuesday, 12 Apr 2016. I was about to reach home. Upon driving into the open-air car park where I usually park, I misjudged a turn and accidentally knocked over a stationary motorcycle parked directly in front of a kerb. No other driver was involved during the incident.

I was very disappointed with myself for knocking down the motorcycle. My initial intention was to move my car to a traffic-free spot before addressing the matter.

I was subsequently stopped by a man. He continuously knocked on my car window while I was attempting to move my car. I later discovered that the man was the owner of the motorcycle.

I tried to signal to him to allow me to move my car first but he persistently hit my screen and gradually, his knocks got louder.

I got out of my car. I attempted to explain that I would take full responsibility. He probably had the impression that I looked like someone that would run away from the scene.

In my state of anxiety, I told him “Do you know who I am, I live upstairs and won’t run”

He appeared to be very angry. I was unsure what I said came out sounding entirely different from what I meant. I was simply trying to convey that I live here, people would know and recognise me if I ran away. On hindsight, my choice of words used were inappropriate and I agree that it
caused unnecessary misunderstandings.

What was said next was a process similar to most traffic incidents.

I offered to compensate for the damages.

I offered him monetary compensation in the form of cash. He was not satisfied with the amount offered and asked for more.

By this time the police has been called in.

I would like to reiterate that it was a judgmental error on my part, there is absolutely no excuse on my careless driving and more importantly, I truly regretted it.

I would also like to take this opportunity to apologise to him for the inconveniences and distress caused.

Looking back I wished I handled the situation with more tact.

Statement from Hype Records:

Dear Friends from the Media,

Thank you for all your concerns regarding Rui En’s involvement in an unfortunate incident that occurred yesterday, 12 April 2016.

At around 1610hrs, she was returning home and was driving into the car park located at her block. Due to some misjudgement, she accidentally knocked over a stationary motorcycle. No other driver and no one was hit or involved in the incident.

To avoid any congestion from oncoming traffic, she wanted to park her vehicle before addressing the matter but was stopped by the owner.

The car park is where she parks her vehicle everyday over many years and she had no intentions of ignoring or even running away from her responsibility.

Understandably, the owner of the motorcycle was upset and unfortunately, her intentions to position her vehicle in a safe area were mistaken.

The owner was very angry and reported the incident to the police.

As with most reported cases, the police will look into the matter and revert on upon their investigation.

We sincerely apologise for any inconveniences caused.

取消区域奖项，“玩阴的”？

本报接获欧萱影迷郭思瑾来信指出，新传媒今年取消区域奖项是“玩阴的”，似乎是针对去年区域奖项大赢家欧萱。

欧萱在2014年赢得柬埔寨区域奖，瑞恩得马来西亚和印度尼西亚奖，林湘萍得中国奖，但到了2015年，欧萱横扫所有四个区域奖。(注: 2015年欧萱应是获得三个区域奖，而非四个; 中国奖由李铭顺获得。)

郭思瑾与其他读者质疑新传媒几点：

1）欧萱每年在网络奖项都有斩获，如果明年这些奖项都要取消，加上今年取消的区域奖项，暗示这种行为是针对欧萱。她也说，每年这些网络投选都是欧萱与瑞恩之争，其他新传媒自家男艺人都难撄其锋，取消掉网络投选似是为保障自家人利益，有“输不起”的感觉。

2）新传媒“悄悄”的把最喜爱角色等网络奖项移到颁奖礼后的庆功派对，和其他不入流的商家赞助奖项一起颁发，而不再把它当成是首场的主戏，这样对得起投票的粉丝吗？粉丝们要投选两个月，到最后，这些奖项变成完全无足轻重。

3）十大最受欢迎男女艺人奖比最喜爱男女角色网络投选更重要，但前者只有一个月的投选时间，后者则长达两个月，我觉得不合理。

4）新传媒把十大女艺人和十大男艺人拆开，分别在第一场和第二场颁奖礼揭晓，感觉很随意，为什么两者的投票期会不同？

5）新传媒曾经说过办两场颁奖礼，是因为第一场要表扬幕后英雄以及网络奖项得主，现在这两个奖项都已不在颁奖礼上颁发了，那还有必要办两场颁奖礼吗？

郭思瑾质疑新传媒此举是担心欧萱（或可能瑞恩，两者的经纪约都属于艺人网络）今年再度囊括第一场颁奖礼的奖项，为了保护自家亲生女（指电视台全合约艺人）。她觉得新传媒不应该把欧萱过去得过的奖项全部端走，“即使我是欧萱粉丝，我也不敢断言她一定会得奖。”

一名年轻艺人叹说：“我以为电视台有进军区域的雄心，现在看来意志不强，才维持了两年，让我感到很失望。”

读者有什么话说？

Sandy Lim则支持停办网络奖项, 因为“没有意义”。她指出：“今年的入围名单让人百思不解。《志在四方2》里欧萱和戚玉武已经不再是情侣，怎么还可以入围？还有《起飞》的郑斌辉和郭舒贤在剧中也不是一对。瑞恩和陈泓宇、张振寰和陈欣淇在《信约：我们的家园》虽然是一对，但在剧中互动不多也没擦出火花，反而是徐鸣杰和雅慧在《初一的心愿》让人喜爱更应该入围。

《志在四方2》电视收视输给小剧集

比较令人意外的是，《志在四方2》是新传媒年度大制作，挟上集好口碑而来，有刘松仁和陈美凤加入的阵容更强，新传媒制作头头袁树伟更取代之前的监制王尤红亲身上阵，但该剧不仅口碑大不如前，收视在电视收视榜只取得第九名，输给许多制作费更小的剧集，反映不受家庭观众垂青，值得幕后人检讨。

不过，电视收视和网络收视相加，《志2》靠着更多年轻观众支持仍是第一，险胜《信约：我们的家园》。后者在电视收视排名第三，网络收视排名第二，表现较平均。
