Yongxuan

Do you still remember Yongxuan? The brave little girl born with osteogenesis imperfecta (also known as brittle bone disease), whom Rui En and Chen Liping met last year in Joy Truck Season 2?

In the opening episode of Joy Truck season 3, the team revisits Yongxuan and it is really nice to know that she is growing up well, jovial and her condition has been improving. We wish her all the best, fighting!

If you would like to recap last year’s episode, we have also embedded the video, at the end of this post, for your convenience. Please note that the availability of the videos are subjected to Toggle’s server.

Jade

In the same recap, Joy Truck also revisited Jade, who suffers from bone cancer and her family was faced with the tough decision of amputating her right hand.

While Rui En wasn’t the celebrity ambassador for Jade’s episode on Joy Truck season 2, fans might remember seeing a post by Mark Lee last year, when Rui En visited Jade at the hospital in her private capacity.

It is heartening to know that Jade has completed her chemotherapy and she is preparing to return to school. We wish her good health and happiness always!

1. Cover Story with Elvin Ng, Pages 38-40

RBKD: Elvin Ng singled out Rui En as his most comfortable on-screen partner as both can be sincere and honest to each other. He finds it comfortable that they can be direct with each other, to the extent that he can tease her too.

Elvin also shared that he will be collaborating with Rui En in upcoming drama 《重来》 which will commence filming in November. In the show, most probably the duo would be paired with each other but it will not be a “typical good couple” as Elvin’s character will do harm to Rui En’s.

Update: 《重来》is now tentatively renamed to “Throughout the years 十年…你还好吗？”
