RBKD: At the beginning of the news was the coverage on unveiling the Singapore Botanic Gardens’ UNESCO World Heritage Site plaque. In celebration of the country’s 50th year of independence, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong officially named the SG50 orchid – Papilionanthe Singapore Golden Jubilee.
There was also a series of activities lined up at the Gardens, where the first of such series of concerts is called “Aneka Ragam Ra’ayat” or The People’s Variety Show, featuring local artistes such as Rui En, Taufik Batisah and cultural dance troupes.
