Finally, the main course is served.
So yes, expect answers..
Episode 9 started with a quick flashback of what happened seven years ago and we are quickly drawn into Xueqing’s complex emotions when facing the fact that her father was a murderer.
While investigating the missing female undergraduates, Xueqing, Di Shen & Uncle Gangyi were presented with loopholes in her father’s case.
If you think having two cases concurrently is complicated enough, clearly the writer wanted more fun with a third. Surprisingly, they actually made sense when presented together. (Thank goodness!)
Rui En and Christopher Lee performed to high standards as expected of the two-time Star Awards Best Actress and Best Actor winners. Both of them were required to show off a myriad of complex emotions and struggles, and they did so effortlessly.
Zheng Geping was also convincing in his role as an overly concerned uncle and that brought out giggles in us from time to time~
In Episode 10, we are introduced to the much-awaited band of vigilantes, led by Di Shen seven years ago. One question looms, are they the Shadow Walkers?
Case No. 4 starts proper and we will see how civilised behaviour gave way to primitive desire, screwed thinking and ultimate selfishness in the name of “Love”. While this is an overused idea, the choice of “villains” made it interesting enough.
It is comforting that even before the second commercial break begins, we viewers will be able to deduce the identity of the culprits and what their motives might be. (Phew, no draggy plots!)
But just as you think it is as simple as that, we soon realised that the quick answer was just to give way to the unsolved case from seven years ago. (Huh?? No worries, the intertwining is so seamless you can be forgiven for thinking it is actually one single case only.)
Crowd-pleaser Shadow Walker returns in Episode 11 and all questions from Episodes 9 to 10 will be answered convincingly too.
Something unexpected in this episode will also set stage for a darker plot to come, so be sure to not miss it!
