I’m not one who likes to make a big deal out of new years, resolutions and all that stuff, just like I have no clue what the big deal about birthdays are. But, thanks for making my NYE 2011 one to remember. I’m still waiting with baited breath to wake up from this amazing dream.

Can you believe I have done only one fight scene so far? Before this we were doing all the “wen xi”. Tomorrow starts the real battle, all the way till the end of production late Jan. Am fully prepared for the worst with ice, a pharmacy-worthy supply of various deep heats, medicated oil, and a (literal) Shao Lin miracle worker Chinese doctor’s number on standby.
We are filming the big scenes on Christmas eve, Christmas day, New Years Eve and New Years Day. So while you guys are enjoying your Xmas dinners and all, take a moment and shed a tear for this poor soldier who will be in some ulu pandan corner of SG covered in sweat, dirt and much worse.
And yes, in order to counter the major depressive side effects of filming a script this sad and dark, me and my zui huo da dang have resorted to collapsing into fits of giggles for no reason whatsoever. These fits leave most of the crew puzzled and surprised since nothing conceivable causes them. These fits have been filmed and recorded but hopefully will never see the light of day.

Sometimes it takes only a sneak peek into someone else’s world to make you realize a lot about your own.
That was my experience over the few days doing door-knocking with Beyond Social Services from 10th Oct 2011.
I’d previously volunteered at their now-defunct home in Woodlands, when they asked me to do this door-knocking I was happy to be able to help them.
The purpose of this door-knocking was literally to go from door to door in a low-income neighbourhood of temporary housing along Havelock Road to have the most visceral experience of talking directly to the occupants and finding out how many youths under the age of 19 years old were there in Block 29. I’d always felt helpless and not involved enough somehow doing charity appearances and performances, and this was my first chance to get down to the grassroots level, something I’d always wanted.

I know how you are feeling cos am training hard for U2. Prolly harder than I’ve ever trained. The first words out of my mouth everytime my trainer hands me the weights are “Oh my goodness” and “I can’t! I’m going to fall over!”.

My stance against doing rape and kissing scenes has not wavered. Not even when I was told to my face that I would never have a career due to having such conditions.
I will never agree to doing rape scene. Period.
Which is why I was surprised but felt it was not entirely unexpected that Zhang Yao Dong told reporters that he did a rape scene with me.
The scene he was referring to is a fight scene with him trying to force drugs down the blind character’s throat. While unconscious, he stroked my hair and face. That is the extent of anything remotely resembling a rape scene.
I strongly believe that abusing women should never be considered trivial, much less be made use of to create news or scandals of any sort.
Though I understand how some artistes require the need to create headlines to stay relevant, there is no necessity to twist facts around in order to provide the press with inaccurate juicy headlines.
Though I will not judge anyone and simply chose to do things differently. I draw the line when individuals sensationalize insinuations to draw attention to themselves at the expense of someone else’s integrity.
