It was a dismal showing for MediaCorp’s so-called Seven Princesses when only Rui En, Jesseca Liu and Felicia Chin made it to the coveted list. While hot faves like Jeanette Aw and Joanne Peh licked their wounds, Yvonne Lim and Edmund Tay were all smiles and tears (of joy) as they took home the Best Actress and Best Actor awards for the first time.

Where were the fans? Did the media’s tag of them cause their downfall?

This must be the question on the minds of four of the Seven Princesses. The loudest gasps were heard in the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes awards category where only three of the Seven Princesses (a term given by the local media to the seven up-and-coming nubile actresses in MediaCorp) made it to the popularity roll call.
