It’s not the RBKD Style.

Dear Fans, Fellow FCs and anyone who is reading this

You guys know how RBKD has always been, as a Fan Club, in terms of how we treat others. No matter who you are.

You might have met us at events, countdown parties, when we went round sharing our light sticks, sweets and such.

You might also have been to the recent Unriddle 2 cum Seeds of Life Road Show, and saw our handmade bouquets of sunflowers for Chen Liping, Eelyn Kok and Shaun Chen too.

You might also recall hearing us, cheering spontaneously for each and every nomination which involved the dramas Rui En participated in, even if it is production categories.

Would such a Fan Club jeer at anyone?

Jeering is a rude act. Above all, it is simply about basic manners and respect to others, and also a display of our conduct and upbringing. Therefore, we don’t jeer.

The wrongful accusation that Rui En’s fans jeered at Zhang Yaodong was hurtful. We were wronged.

It was assumed that because there were jeers, it must be us. No, it’s not. We were just as clueless, and surprised, when people seated rows behind us, jeered. We have no idea who they are.

We are not trying to explain anything, we do not explain about things we have not done, or things that we have not done wrong.

But we have to make a statement, because our manners and upbringing are being questioned here. We know, most of you understand us well enough to know how we are as a person, and that we will definitely not jeer. We didn’t change :)

But 养不教, 父之过. We are blessed with dutiful parents who assumed responsibility in our upbringing to educate us with the right values since young. Imagine our parents reading such news, how hurt would they be to see how their children’s upbringing has been questioned?

This is the reason why I am writing this.

And frankly, caught both on and off TV, frequent small talks and interaction between the duo, obvious ease of comfort with each other’s presence on and off stage, is that really a lack of chemistry? Must chemistry be over the top before it can be felt?

An event to celebrate the best of local TV, a night where fans, artistes and viewers should enjoy. Why did it turn out this way?

.
