I’m doing everything except writing anything about the new membership scheme. I’m really dragging on this because it’s kinda boring. The scheme’s interesting enough, it fulfils the objectives I set in an “innovative” manner but the thing with new ideas is that we have to explain. And dreads but I don’t like to explain myself :/
T&C is updated, the form for local fans is ready, and I have started drafting the scheme. Arghs. The FAQ to Big40 is totally not applicable to this new scheme. Everything’s from scratch again :/

What a tricky question.
I used to choose Quality as my outright answer, however, I’m not that sure these days.
Don’t get me wrong, Quality is still very important to me. Which is why I stood by the magical 40 previously just as someone did with the magical 85.
Now the problem is, I can’t just choose Quality over Quantity because it is Quantity which first defines the club before Quality is even known.
And why do I need anyone to know more about us? Well, because of the need in having a strong FC (I will share more about this next time round). This is why the issue is so tricky, just where is that balance point, no one knows exactly.
I can only give it a try, to design schemes that hopefully, would welcome a good Quantity of Quality fans whom we would be glad to see as our fellow members.
Just done with the new membership application form, FAQ’s up next. Yucks. Haha.
I know I know, everyone is curious about the NEW membership scheme. Honestly, it’s all up in my head; in fact it had already acquired permanent residency two months back.
Converting to full “citizenship” is troublesome, so many details to run through, new T&C, FAQs and all those tiny winy little fine lines, thank goodness I have enough say to exempt it from any citizenship test.
Why don’t I just accept “bribery” by collecting a nominal membership fee? Well, my answer/question would be: why do we need the money?
“Bribery” got to be the easiest way out, too bad you have a club president who likes to make things difficult, money is nothing.
I will try my best to finalise the scheme asap, meanwhile, here’s a little clue about the new scheme; the focus is on Effort, Participation and Belonging.

Ideas are flooding in like mad (such a wrong time!) and I’m getting my organizers all excited. Now for exams to end and planning to kick start!

Have you ever managed a web? I guess anyone who tracks the number of hits on their blogs could understand just as well, how much it means to the web team when hits reach 170 000 183 000 and visitors numbered 90 000 96 500.
It is just as important to me that our Youtube Channel has attracted 208 000 221 000 video views and 15 000 17 000 channel views.
All these figures might mean nothing to webs drawing 10 000 or 100 000 hits daily, but to us, even if it’s only an average of 400-800 visitors daily, goodness it just makes sense why we are doing all these.

The paths in our modern and urban world are no longer paved with sand or dust, but rather, laid with tar and cement. How often could we leave footprints behind on these cold hard tracks that we had once walked through?
But each and every step you guys took, to this common destination of ours did not go unnoticed, at least not by me. I am appreciative, for the chance to walk through this “game” with everyone. Thanks for putting in your heart and soul to it no matter how silly we all think it is. Ain’t we all glad our hearts are young and strong enough for this? It was such a sweet win. Real thanks.

As it turned out, nevermind if there was no “LIVE” thank you speech, nevermind if she didn’t say the one line I was hoping to hear – “Thank you, RBKD”, and nevermind the camera didn’t managed to spot our banner up there; at the end of the day, what we really care is, she is IN. That’s all that matters to us.

Have you ever wondered, what if she was there, delivering her Top10 speech on stage? Would it be her most touching SA speech ever?
Compared with what she has said in 2007, and compared with what each of us has done since 2007, surely I am not the only one keen to know how that speech would be?
Don’t I already know? Yes I do, no I don’t.
I guess there’s always a (huge) difference between guessing what it could have been and knowing what it really is.
So I will never know, because on this very night that we had been waiting for, I honestly rather she enjoys herself in London instead. And I sincerely mean this. But because 2010 will never be 2009, so things can never be the same, it won’t feel the same either.
The single one speech I had been waiting for, will remain as known to me, as when I started waiting for it back in Mar’08.
The wait has finally ended, it’s just not the same though..
