本地电视剧收视每况愈下,不复以往的今天,还有收视保证这回事吗?联合早报记者翻出过去11年来所统计的年度收视榜数据,从演员、题材、监制和故事人这几方面,尝试找出本地剧收视保证王牌。

首先是找出谁是收视保证演员。

记者根据每年收视三甲的戏剧,找出主角,再根据各剧排名依次给分,如收视第三名的主角,每人1分;第二名每人2分;第一名每人4分。第一二名的分数差距较大,是为了凸显冠军剧的重要性。

另外,记者认为,凡是重头剧或是大堆头演员为主的戏剧,演员将不得分。这是因为这类剧的预算一般较大,有较多动作、爆破场面,也动员众多演员演出,可以说,这类剧对观众的吸引力,不在个别演员身上。

另一方面,有若干家庭剧以群戏为主,主配角的戏份差异不大,一律不给分以示公平。这么一来,能够打进三甲的小成本剧主角获得分数,才能彰显出其演员的号召力。

从2015年追溯至2005年的收视前三名戏剧、主角、剧种、监制、故事人如下表。

综观12年来的三甲,总共有38部剧上榜(2013年有三部剧共享第三)。其中,16部可归类为大堆头演员的重头剧或以群戏为主的剧集,剩下22部有明显主角可以计分。

统计结果,黄碧仁毫无悬念地以10分(一部冠军两部季军)遥遥领先。接着是黄俊雄、彭耀顺各以6分居次,再来瑞恩、王沺裁和夏雨同得5分排名第三。

得4分和3分的有超过10人,郑惠玉和欧萱(皆3分)都在其中。记得在90年代郑惠玉的事业巅峰时期,她就是电视人口中的收视灵丹,凡戏有她出现,总能拉抬几点收视。不过她近年减产,每年一剧,如果“押错宝”,收视表现就很平凡了。

重头剧的特色

其实,花比较多钱摄制的重头剧,只有四部摘下冠军。

如果扩大去看38部上榜剧,其中16部或将近一半是群戏为主,似也反映出新传媒的主角收视效应不太够,大堆头演员演出气氛热闹,比较吸引观众。

那么,重头剧又最常用哪些演员呢?他们是白薇秀、黄俊雄、李南星、欧萱、戚玉武和瑞恩,都有三部或以上。根据一些幕后人的说法,这显示他们可能是受力捧或重视的小生花旦,所以容易在重头剧中卡位。参与重头剧的好处是,当它收视高时,演员们都能生辉,若反应不佳,则很难挑人出来扛责,比起小成本剧,风险不大,相对安全。

家庭剧最受欢迎

剧种方面,以家庭观众为主要对象的电视剧,最受欢迎的题材是家庭剧,可说是“众望所归”,38部剧中有15部可归类为家庭剧。

但是家庭剧拍多了,难免走入瓶颈,有人认为本地剧一度出现家庭剧泛滥现象,造成年轻观众流失。

在剩余剧集中,怀旧剧和警匪剧各占四部、三部,是本地观众较喜爱的剧种。随着人口老化,医护剧过去几年慢慢崛起,越来越符合年长观众的口味,也反映在三甲名单中。

姜是老的辣

监制和故事人方面,按照和演员的计算法(冠军剧4分,亚军剧2分,季军剧1分),也得出以下的“收视保证”名单。

最资深的王尤红以12分居监制榜首,其次是李宁强、谢敏洋各11分(两人皆已离职),苏美莲得10分居第三。杨锡彬被调任马来西亚新传媒负责人后,影响表现,但凭被调前的表现也有7分。

故事人方面,也是最资深的洪荣狄以20分排第一,接着是刘清盆的15分,谢俊源有12分。同样的,全方位工作室的8分加上哇哇映画的5分达13分,刚好可打入三甲。不过有故事人透露,最近新传媒改变制度,提呈某个点子或案子的故事人,最终未必会被分配负责编写故事,据了解新的分配制度不太受欢迎。

联合早报记者试图通过一套实验性的标准来测量“收视保证”,这未必是唯一的标准,但或可抛砖引玉。

新传媒采用新的收视计算方式,原受看好的哇哇映画新剧《美味下半场》首当其冲,播出至今收视只有单位数。

《美》收视呈单位数

新传媒采用新收视制,据了解,在新制计算的收视会比以往的低至少20%。作为第一个采用新制计算的《美味下半场》,马上“吃到苦头”,收视只有单位数,应是今年至今为止最低数字,不过由于计算方式有别,它和今年较早前播出的节目无法相提并论。

新传媒品牌与宣传副总裁陈国明告诉联合早报,新计算法由资讯通信媒体发展局(IMDA)所推动,未来也将适用于其他平台上,因此算法会更完整,只是目前的数据只包含电视收视,不包括通过网络和手机收看户。

圈内人受访时表示欢迎更准确的测量系统,但如果当局能从明年起才开始采用收视新制会比较妥善,这样才方便今年内播映的节目进行比较。

据知在旧的计算方式下,也是哇哇映画的制作《复仇女王》领先其他剧集,原本圈内人都好奇《美味下半场》以及年底重头剧如何与《复》一拼,不过改了新制后,三剧已经无法放在同一天平比较。

新测量法

提供准确市场数据

新的电视收视测量法,称为“新加坡电视观众测量”(Singapore Television Audience Measurement 或 SG-TAM),是针对全国所有电视节目的完整收视测量系统,包括免付费、付费、网络和手机各种播放平台,也包括视频点播(Video On Demand)。它由资信媒体局委托进行测量,能够通过先进技术提供准确的市场数据,反映观众口味,让节目制作单位、发行商与电视台、广告商都能确切掌握市场动向。

The Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) is looking to create a single unified audience measurement currency for TV. This includes the audiences garnered for TV across desktop, smartphone and tablets to access TV.

It has appointed GfK for three years, with a two-year renewal option to run the project. This followed an open tender for a research firm to do this. Singapore will get an integrated measurement system that will include the complete audience for traditional television, as well as those using computers, smartphones and tablets to access TV and video content, said the MDA. First reports are expected to be out by 2016.

The government body said that while TV ratings systems in Singapore had focused mainly on FTA channels, it was seeking to create a unified system for a more robust analysis of TV audience measurements.

GfK will set up a system for the integrated analysis of the complete audience for TV in Singapore called the Singapore Television Audience Measurement (SG-TAM). This will include traditional linear television, as well as time-delayed television and TV video streaming on computers and mobile devices.

The service will be based on a single-source panel of more than 1,000 households. The service provided to the MDA will form a single source of currency for the media industry.

Broadcasters, producers and advertisers will now have access to audience consumption data across a full range of media platforms – free-to-air TV, pay-TV channels, over-the-top streaming platforms, online and mobile channels.

Additionally, it will enable programme content to be optimised and advertising campaigns to be strategically planned, supported by GfK’s analytical software.

A MDA spokesperson explained that one of the aims of SG-TAM was to make data accessible to key stakeholders such as broadcasters, platform and content owners, advertisers and content producers, who can use the data for their business decisions.

Data distribution will be managed and licensed to different users based on the different tiers of data and type of data required. Broadcasters will be able to access the data on a subscription basis.

众所周知,网络崛起已分掉电视收视,所以电视台现在都要强打网络平台,以挽救节目收视。新传媒公布的2015年十大网络收视节目中,包含多部本地剧,可是综艺节目却只有一个,还是外购的《中国好声音》。本地综艺节目完全不见踪影。

本地剧网络收视胜综艺

据了解,目前的8频道收视,7点半打先锋的《富贵平安》意外低迷,收视率跌至单位数,圈内人表示惊讶,因为以演员阵容和戏剧题材来说,十分坚强,如果还吸引不了观众,只能表示观众流失不再回头,因为外面有更好的节目。相比之下,8点档的综艺节目表现较好,至少稳住双位数收视。

不过呢,这是以电视收视而言,网络收视就没那么乐观了。

电视观众以年长者为主,网络收视群则是年轻人占多数。网络收视榜有本地剧而没有本地综艺节目,反映过去一年,在追逐眼球的过程中,本地剧打败了本地综艺节目。《中国好声音》的入榜,说明观众不是不爱看综艺节目,而是本地节目满足不了观众口味。

新传媒去年全力打造《歌台星力量》,是中国人气歌唱节目《我是歌手》的歌台版,节目的电视收视称霸,吸引了家庭观众的同时,却无法在年轻人群中制造同样的反响。

《歌》已经是电视台比较有年轻感的节目了,除了《那些年,我们一起玩的游戏》《学校没教的事》等新节目,其他节目多跟烹饪、家居相关,目标都锁定家庭观众,年轻人当然不买账。

去年新传媒没有提供类似数据,我无从比较前年的情况,但去年的网络收视情势,显示本地综艺节目正走向没落,如果没有赶紧对症下药,前景堪虞。

过去本专栏曾提过新传媒的几个问题:

1)新传媒制作底下的综艺部做什么节目,是由新传媒电视底下的节目部下单的。收视不好,可能是综艺部制作得不好,也可能是节目部下错了单,跟市场口味脱了节。

2)新传媒的综艺节目(其实戏剧也是,但没那么严重),很多时候能否开拍,要看找不找得到赞助商,以家庭观众为主的节目自然安稳得多,以年轻人为主的节目得冒险尝试,因为年轻人的娱乐选择更多,因此在避重就轻的恶性循环下,节目日益“老人化”在所难免,距离年轻人也就更远了。

这个问题,不是我提出来才出现的,而是它原本就在十大网络收视节目榜单反映出来。

《志在四方2》电视收视输给小剧集

比较令人意外的是,《志在四方2》是新传媒年度大制作,挟上集好口碑而来,有刘松仁和陈美凤加入的阵容更强,新传媒制作头头袁树伟更取代之前的监制王尤红亲身上阵,但该剧不仅口碑大不如前,收视在电视收视榜只取得第九名,输给许多制作费更小的剧集,反映不受家庭观众垂青,值得幕后人检讨。

不过,电视收视和网络收视相加,《志2》靠着更多年轻观众支持仍是第一,险胜《信约:我们的家园》。后者在电视收视排名第三,网络收视排名第二,表现较平均。

Pre-2007: The days of being ‘7 princesses’

Those were the days when “7 Princesses” were the talk of the town. Labeled as the “Ice Princess”, the association has always been a double-edged sword and understandably, non-conformist Rui En wasn’t comfortable with the labeling.

Still, what doesn’t kill you make you stronger; despite being ranked among the bottom few frequently back then, Rui En has certainly come a long way to her current state now.

Witty Rui En quipped, “who doesn’t love Elsa?” Indeed, now we know why even our young cousins adore Rui En? :p

The first time she crossed over to the dark side: Against The Tide (2014)

Who can forget this? Need we even say more?

There are times, most of the time in fact, when we hope that Rui En can be duly recognised for her respective roles with acting awards. But there are roles, not confined nor defined by the rules of awards, but recognised and acknowledged by the yardstick of the common viewer. This is one of those. Always our Best Actress. :)

Where to from now: Rui En’s progression to mature roles

Sure, fans might worry how Rui En has entered the land of no-return after her first ‘aunty’ role in upcoming “If Only I Could…..”

But more than anything else, fans just hope that Rui En gets to try a myriad of roles, defined by their depths and not age. Just like how Rui En do not wish to trap herself to the pigeonhole of being an idol or just become known for a certain type of roles, fans hope that her willingness to try diverse roles can be matched by equally varied range of opportunities too.

Aunty? Woa. Policewoman? Awesome. Goofy? Why not?

As long as you can deliver (and we know you will), by all means, challenge us with your multitude of roles and acting. We have adapted pretty well over the years, haven’t we? :p

So what motivates Rui En and keeps her going today?

Yup, so now Rui En has 2 cats and Bingo has been renamed muffin. Why huh? :p

Rui En claims that reading interviews of actors and actresses she admires as the fuel to keep her passion burning. Thank goodness for these people, hence you are still here in our lives.

Rui En also gave special thanks to many, including “angels sent from God” and her “Hype family” for always being there for her. Indeed. If you are reading this, you know you are included, you have always been there for her. Thank you for that.

Rui En’s legacy: To be able to empower women and young girls

Awards do not define Rui En.

There are those who crave for awards and fame, and there are those who wish to use the awards and fame for greater good.

In Hollywood there’s Leonardo Dicaprio who lent his voice for climate change in his acceptance speech for the coveted golden man trophy he had waited 22 years for.

In Singapore, Rui En shares how she hopes to inspire and empower women and young girls through her acting and everything. Keep it up, girl!

究竟谁会在竞争中胜出?

新传媒电视8频道每年都推出两部重头剧,所谓重头剧,即演员阵容比较强大,制作预算也比较高。今年的重头剧是《信约:我们的家园》和《志在四方2》。不过因为今年又是新加坡独立50周年,媒体发展管理局特别拨款制作一部具新加坡特色的电视剧,最后哇哇映画以新谣为故事背景的概念,抢得这个制作机会,《起飞》这部剧也被新传媒列为重头剧之一,使今年的重头剧变成了三部。

三部重头剧的特色,是有浓厚的新加坡色彩。《起飞》讲的是新加坡本土音乐新谣,《信约:我们的家园》有我国历史发展,《志在四方2》则有真真假假的本地电视圈传闻,让今年的电视成了名副其实的“SG50”年。

不过,重头剧不一定是收视保证,往年,砸重本拍摄的重头剧演出滑铁卢,收视不如小成本制作多得是。

在三部重头剧推出之前,最受人瞩目的是黄碧仁继《三个愿望》后再演的剧集《虎妈来了》,它是家庭剧题材,也是最受家庭观众喜爱的收视保证。果然《虎》推出后,收视多度突破百万,暂时领先。许多人好奇,《虎妈来了》会不会如《三个愿望》夺下年度收视冠军。三部重头剧来势汹汹,会对它造成怎样的冲击?

匿名发表看法

四剧火并,谁会胜出?本报邀请四部剧都没有参与的艺人陈泂江、黄俊雄、刘子绚、向云、雅慧、郑各评、周初明、朱厚任等八人预测收视排名。为了做到诚实、公正与客观,避开敏感性,本报允许艺人匿名发表看法。

新传媒品牌与宣传副总裁陈国明也受邀作预测,不过他婉拒,理由是“这四部剧的剧种和目标观众群都有所不同,很难单凭戏剧本身的风格或品质预测收视。我觉得我不便在两部剧已经播完、一部剧正在播映、和一部剧尚未播出之前对收视作出揣测。”诚如他说的,一部剧的收视会受到各方面影响,包括播映期是否碰上考试、假期或其他重大事件等。不过,如果单从天时、演员阵容、题材、宣传噱头等来作预测,未尝不可,从演员们的看法,也可以看出各人对本地观众收视喜好与习惯的观点与了解,有一定的趣味。

被八名艺人排在首位的戏剧得4分,次位3分,以此类推。经过综合排名,《志在四方2》以七个第一、一个第二,共31分排名第一。《起飞》《虎妈来了》《信约:我们的家园》以19分、16分、14分,依序排第二、三、四名。

《志在四方2》受到各方看好,主要是因为第一集已建立良好口碑,其次是陈莉萍、陈汉玮、陈泓宇、林慧玲这回换来刘松仁、陈美凤、黄碧仁、李南星等新港台兵团,明星效应不减反增。不少艺人觉得,《志2》以娱乐圈和其中的八卦、幕后秘辛为主题,对观众别具吸引力。此外,剧本平均发展各线,别具看头,也会引起收视兴趣。四号艺人妙语:“现实中的明争暗斗往往看不清楚,在戏剧里可以看个分明。”

《起飞》打着哇哇映画过去几年优异制作的招牌,有李铭顺、郑斌辉、郭舒贤、郑秀珍等具演技实力的阿哥阿姐,多年后首度合演,有一定号召力,且又结合戏剧与新加坡人的集体回忆——新谣,充满新鲜感。该剧还首创现实版戏中戏——把剧中的演唱会搬到戏外举办,并在社交媒体上分享新谣歌曲视频。

五号艺人认为《起》创新并具代表性,是他心目中的年度最佳电视剧,但叫好不叫座在预期中,显示本地观众的欣赏水平有待提高。三号艺人特别欣赏剧里的“优质老姜”,但认为剧情穿插太多回溯过去的片段(flashback),不容易讨好没有思考习惯的安娣观众。

《虎妈来了》是家庭剧,收视基本盘已在,题材是金牌故事人洪荣狄所拿手,从一个准后母的角度出发,看她怎样“拯救”一个“问题家庭”,是本地剧前所未有的尝试。另外,请来黄碧仁坐镇,已是收视保证,新鲜点是“虎妈”的年度热门话题。不过有些观众小看家庭剧的威力,有三名艺人觉得家庭剧看得多了,把它的收视排在最后一名。五号艺人说《虎》通俗热闹,老少咸宜,黄碧仁挟《三个愿望》气势演出,更添号召力。

《信约:我们的家园》是三部曲终结篇,排在年中播出,故事讲到独立后的历史,一些重大事件如油槽船爆炸、新世界酒店倒塌等,也写入剧情,会触及中年观众的记忆,引起共鸣,同时因应独立50年及国庆的热烈爱国气氛高潮,有所加分,新生代组成的演员阵容也可观。不过几名艺人认为年轻一代演员撑不起大局,也缺乏年代感和角色说服力,此外剧本也较前两集逊色。



从过去五年收视排名探测观众口味

这里回顾过去五年本地剧收视排名三甲,探测观众口味。

2010:

2011:
1.《四个门牌一个梦》2.《警徽天职》3.《行医》

2012:

1.《警徽天职2》【瑞恩主演】 2.《志在四方》(重头剧)【瑞恩主演】 3.《信约:唐山到南洋》(重头剧)、《好运到》、《曙光》(并列)

2014:
1.《三个愿望》2.《警徽天职3》【瑞恩主演】 3.《Missy先生》4.《信约:动荡的年代》(重头剧)


从以上排名看来,本地观众的口味偏爱警匪剧,《警徽天职2》系列都打入三甲。该系列虽不被列为重头剧,但有警方赞助及协助拍摄,预算充足,演员阵容也强。

说到重头剧,收视表现时好时坏,看剧本、监制,也看剧种。

2010年,《红白喜事》高居第二,但《破天网》在五名外。2011年,《阿娣》和《星洲之夜》徘徊十大边缘,不受观众青睐。隔年,《对对碰》和《花样人间》双双打入三甲。2012年,《志在四方》再携《信约:唐山到南洋》进前三名。但去年,《信约:动荡的年代》只排第五,《球在你脚下》硬碰世界杯足球赛也栽在球下。

家庭剧题材被视为安全牌,毕竟主要的电视观众是家庭妇女,但题材拍多了,收视要突破冲高不易,2011年《四个门牌一个梦》结合新移民题材引起话题,在不受看好下夺得冠军。2012年,《对对碰》以少数被封重头剧处理的家庭剧题材,拿下第二名。2013年,《好运到》爆冷打入三甲。去年,《三个愿望》融合奇幻元素,成功称冠,也是历来制作素有口碑的哇哇映画首个收视第一。

虎妈和信约气势汹汹

《虎妈来了》《信约:我们的家园》已播毕,前者平均观众人数近102万人,20集中有一半集数观众破百万;后者平均观众数近99万人,30集中12集观众破百万。

《起飞》播映至今,仍无一集破百万。换句话说,三剧的排名是《虎》《我》和《起》。

有时候影视制作脚步走在时代或观众之前,必须付出(观众接受不了的)代价,但这未必是坏事……

哇哇映画制作《三个愿望》收视去年称霸本地,电视圈回响不小。 以前,圈内人觉得新传媒制作有较强的卡士,外面委制剧要比不容易,靠着认真的制作勉强才打和,但你看,长城是可以攻破的。哇哇映画设下这样的标竿以后,新传媒以外的独立制作,从此可以如此自我期许。相信这样的良性竞争的正面效应会激励大家更加进步。

三十年河东三十年河西

之前写《祖先保佑》是本地剧第一次拍穿越剧。有读者来信指正说,1985年的《大侠吴三奇》才是第一部,这才勾起我的记忆。感慨吗?原来当年还叫新广的电视台,脚步这么先进。

依稀记得《大》播出时被骂惨了,翻开资料,原来《大》也是第一部本地现场配音的电视剧,播出后观众恶评如潮。

整整30年后,看回《大》,我们获得什么启示呢?

但人生不进则退,就如我在网上《大》的片尾曲画面惊讶发现该剧当年曾拉队到韩国拍摄!而当年,谁会想到韩剧还是没人看的东西呢!三十年河东三十年河西,说的就是这个道理啊!

个人去年最喜爱本地剧

至于我个人去年最喜爱哪部本地剧,我会投《逆潮》一票。我和许多本地观众一样,爱看警匪剧,但像《警徽天职》系列那类的我觉得层次有点底,但排名那么高,反映多数观众的口味。故事人彭凯毅的《逆潮》有他一贯的风格,对人物心理描写颇有层次。看瑞恩、陈祎伦、袁帅、包勋评、苏智诚、冯伟衷、黄思恬、黄炯耀等一个个反派现身,整部剧生色不少。
