This Mother’s Day, we want to do something meaningful. And what’s more meaningful to a mother than to know how much she means to her children?
However, more often than not, we do not know how to express this love to our mums. So, we want to help you do just that!
Tell us “What do you have to say to your mum this Mother’s Day?” in not more than 100 words. And we will write your message into an exclusive “The In-Laws 麻婆斗妇” star-studded memo pad! On top of that, we also throw in one of the tingkats that were actually used in the show!
Who knows, yours might just be the one that Pierre Png gave to Rui En or the one that Rui En ate from!
Send in your message now to firstname.lastname@example.org along with your Name, I/C no., contact no. and address!

There is nothing like staying at home for real comfort. Or so they say. But for this one girl, we could not say the same. Hanging around in her cosy little home turned into an episode she will never forget.
Sha Sha, sightless since birth, was spending a quiet afternoon at her Tiong Bahru home just like any other day. But her dose of serenity was interrupted by a surprise visitor.
Clad in a crisp white shirt and a black blazer, the seemingly preppy man dropped in on Sha Sha and threatened her.
At one point, the man grabbed Sha sha, shoved her to the floor and then attempted to force-feed a drug pill to her.
Sha sha tried to push pass the cad and escape but it was to no avail. She was defenseless.
But just when her helplessness is about to make her give up, a man of the moment turned up to get her out of the tight spot!
That was a scene in ‘On The Fringe 边缘父子’ where Rui En, who plays a visually impaired, faces dangerous man in her own home. It’s an extremely dicey situation for her especially when she can “see no evil” (pun intended)! Just keeeding! But anyways, it was an intense scene between Zhang Yao Dong and Rui En. There were shoving, pushing, force-feeding, glassbreaking, stumbling.. you get the picture. But don’t worry. Who would bear to see our ice cool princess getting hurt, would you? It was all great acting.
Throughout the day, I was looking forward to Li Nanxing. In the show he’s such a chivalrous guy (I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again), gentlemanly and courageous. Listening to his deep husky voice shouting “放开 Sha Sha!” was so gratifying. Ask the girls! they couldn’t agree more. Seriously, how many guys, almost half-a-hundred year-old, who could still charm like him?

The good, the bad and the what-the-hell-is-that?
Grey matter: We know Favourite Female Character winner Rui En loves her pantsuits and this Hermes ensemble is a class above them all. Extra points for that kinky leather belt around her neck.

If this is a dream, we know a few people who wouldn’t want to wake up. Joanne Peh, for one, was a big winner, edging out experienced Ah Ges such as Mark Lee and Bryan Wong to bag the Best Info-Ed Programme Host award. Of course, she also made it to the Top 10 Most Popular list. Never mind that she didn’t win Best Actress lah- one cannot be too greedy, right? That accolade went to Rui En, who also won big, bagging the hotly-contested acting prize, along with Top 10 popularity trophy. However, she looked somewhat less thrilled than Miss Peh. While she seemed genuinely surprised when her name was called, she barely managed a smile on stage. C’mon, Rui En, let that too-cool exterior crack a little. It’s Star Awards night, after all.

(Cow)hide and seek: RUI EN without her pantsuits is like Sue Sylvester without her tracksuits. Even though this all-leather Hermes dress has edge, the Best Actress winner loses her mojo looking demure – and depressed-swathed in this body bag.

She promised us “a surprise” two Sundays ago and what a pleasant surprise we got when this Best Actress 2011 winner stepped out in a black floor-length leather dress from Hermes.
While it was a refreshing change from her usual pantsuits and androgynous styling — baby steps people, baby steps — Rui En stayed true to herself with her choice that night. The lass’s love for leather clearly amplified, it was a perfect fit for the starlet’s cool character.
All the acting honours at this year’s Star Awards went to first-time winners.
China-born star Qi Yuwu won Best Actor for playing a roguish lawyer in legal drama The Family Court and local girl Rui En took home the Best Actress trophy for her role of a grieving widow in With You.
While Best Actress Rui En, 30, appeared composed, her frequent small smiles clearly revealed how happy she was. She said: ” I’ve never taken anything for granted and I only want to act even though there were times where i would hear things like the media telling me that I’m not suited for this industry.”
She was referring to the fact that she has a reputation for not playing the public relations game and for being forthright and unconventional.
Her win crowned a triumphant 2010: She starred in three of last year’s top five dramas on Channel 8 – With You, Happy Family and Unriddle.
Her feminine side was on show with a Hermes black dress, a deviation from the usual menswear-inspired outfits she had worn in past years to the Star Awards.
“I feel most comfortable in men’s clothes but I was in a mood for a dress and I’m sure everyone is tired of me looking the same. Besides, I’ve had a lot of breakthroughs in the previous years, so I thought, why not?” She explained.
